Cardio does NOT inhibit muscle growth
**************************************************************

Modern research, including a 2022 meta-analysis of 43 studies, shows that combining cardio and lifting results in essentially zero difference in muscle growth or max strength compared to lifting alone.

The "interference effect" is largely a myth:
The original 1980s study and subsequent molecular theories (based mostly on rats) claiming cardio cancels out muscle-building pathways have not held up in human trials.

Explosive power is the only real exception:
Concurrent training may modestly reduce explosive power (e.g., jumping, sprinting), but this primarily occurs when both are crammed into the same session with little rest.

Dose and modality matter for recovery:
Stick to 2–4 sessions per week (20–40 minutes each). Cycling, rowing, swimming, and incline walking cause far less leg interference than running, which creates more muscle damage competing with squat/deadlift recovery.

Timing strategy:
If you must do both in one session, lift first and do cardio after. Ideally, separate them by at least six hours or on different days entirely to eliminate recovery conflicts.

Practical takeaway:
Unless you are an elite powerlifter or sprinter, stop fearing cardio. Aim for moderate cardio to protect heart health without sacrificing your gains.

What you’re seeing in this animation is called Cherenkov radiation.

It is the ultimate cosmic flex that happens when high-energy charged particles, such as electrons or protons, move through a transparent medium faster than the phase velocity of light in that medium.

Metal Church - Dead to Rights

Formed in the early 80's Metal Church are considered to be pioneers of the thrash metal, speed metal and power metal genres. This is a song from their 14th album. They are one of the first heavy metal bands that I've been introduced to as young teen.

Remember when Oracle leased out 100k Blackwells to Tencent recently for dirt cheap bc it needed that 30% upfront really bad?

A lot of desperate compute provider now coming online w/ no takers. Too bad for Anthropic that they signed on to those long contracts when they could've to drop.

This AI hype cycle is just so hilarious. Demand goes up 3-4x in short period & ppl think compute revenue will always stay at this premium. Once the data centers actually come online, we have a glut like now.
That’s what happens when FOMO kicks in. Lots of Blackwells from dusty warehouses are coming online over the next few months. There will be a lot of supply. A lot.

FARMER's WALK benefits:
*************************************************

Superior Muscle Activation:

Walking while carrying weight activates lower back muscles nearly twice as much as standing still and engages spinal stabilizers (longissimus and multifidus) three times e to the constant need to balance and adjust with every step.

Full-Body Functional Strength:

Farmer's walks build unique "isometric" strength by keeping grip, traps, and forearms under constant tension. They also strengthen the gluteus medius for hip stability and improve posture by forcing the upper body to fight against being pulled forward.

Health and Longevity Benefits:

Strong grip strength is a significant predictor of lower all-cause mortality and cardiovascular risk. Additionally, loading the spine helps increase bone density, and the exercise may reduce the risk of lower back injuries by teaching the spine to stabilize under load.

Muscle Growth Potential:

Research comparing strongman-style exercises (including farmer’s walks) to traditional weightlifting shows that the strongman group actually gained more muscle mass, suggesting farmer’s walks have a significant edge in hypertrophy.

The 30/30 Training Method:

The recommended protocol is 30 seconds of walking followed by 30 seconds of rest.
This is structured in three stages of progressive overload:
Stage 1: 50% of body weight total (10 rounds).
Stage 2: 75% of body weight total (10–15 rounds).
Stage 3: 100% of body weight total (aiming for higher rounds as strength increases).

Training Guidelines:
Perform this routine twice a week.
Only progress to the next weight stage when you can complete all rounds with good posture and grip strength. Start with shorter intervals (10-20 seconds) if you cannot yet manage 30 seconds, and avoid rushing the pace to maintain form.

AI models, in the end, all converge to crabs!
Yann LeCun and Randall Balestriero just Proved the Platonic Representation Hypothesis, and found a better way to achieve it.

The Platonic Representation Hypothesis suggests that AI models trained on different modalities, like images and text, eventually learn similar world. But this paper shows that how models are trained matters more than simply scaling them up.

So they mathematically show that, under certain conditions, two JEPAs trained completely separately can learn essentially the same underlying representation of the world. One learns from different images of the same scene, while the other learns from different descriptions of that scene, without ever being trained on image-text pairs.

Their approach achieves the same image-text alignment with 42x fewer training samples than next-token prediction. A 109M-parameter text JEPA even outperforms LLMs up to 72B parameters on cross-modal alignment benchmarks.

Instead of using the term clones it would be more appropriate to use car language and call it a restomod or modernized classic restoration. The only difference is that restomods keep the same look, are crazy expensive, and offer superior performance whilst Behringer is budget built, matches the original sound, and adds more features.
