This is because the anti-capitalist left is not actually against people being crazy rich. They're against certain types of people being crazy rich.
Artists and athletes make sense to them because they've played music and sports and because their success can be explained by "luck" and "talent". Messi's wealth is not offensive to them because they understand Messi is much better at football than they are.
But when it comes to business, the anti-capitalist leftist has no framework for understanding why Jeff Bezos might be super rich since 99% of them have never ever created a product, business or service that was of value to other people. They've never taken entrepreneurial risk. They've never employed people and felt the burden of responsibility that comes with that. They've never pick up a business and given it a play in the way they've picked up a ball or a guitar.
They *literally* don't understand wealth creation. They think there is a fixed amount of money and the only thing a business does is split it unfairly.
It's why they rage at Elon and other successful business leaders. Because they genuinely don't understand why they're wealthy.
Also, and this is just as important, athletes and artists are disproportionately young, attractive, "diverse", left wing etc. Business leaders are "evil" middle aged white men whose success offends the average anti-capitalist leftist because they don't understand a) what it is they do and b) that Elon Musk has the same talent advantage on them as Messi does, it's just harder to measure.

It’s criminal the CEO makes 400X what the average worker makes but it’s perfectly fine that Taylor Swift makes 100000X more than the people who clean the arena after her concerts. A just society is one that rewards the exceptional qualities of the musician but not the executive.

Since October 7, there have been a documented total of over 42,000 pro-Palestine protests across the Western world. In the US, the Crowd Counting Consortium recorded more than 7,500 events by April 2024; broader analyses put the number closer to 12,400. In Western Europe, the European Palestinian Media Center (EPAL) documented around 30,000 protests by January 2025. This combined total—over 42,000 protests.None of them called on Hamas to step out from ruling Gaza (politically and militarily). Yet, in Gaza there were 8-10 protests, ALL OF THEM CALLING ON HAMAS TO STEP OUT FROM RULING GAZA.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation now says 8 of its staff members were murdered by Hamas and it believes some workers were taken hostage.
HOW IS THIS NOT FRONT PAGE NEWS ALL OVER THE WORLD?
HOW IS THIS NOT FRONT PAGE NEWS ALL OVER THE WORLD?
#BREAKING A horrifying and terrifying statement from The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation:
Tonight, at approximately 10 p.m. Gaza time, a bus carrying more than two-dozen members of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation team, local Palestinians working side-by-side with the U.S. GHF team to deliver critical aid, were brutally attacked by Hamas. At the time of the attack, our team was en route to one of our distribution centers in the area west of Khan Younis.
We are still gathering facts, but what we know is devastating: there are at least five fatalities, multiple injuries, and fear that some of our team members may have been taken hostage. We condemn this heinous and deliberate attack in the strongest possible terms. These were aid workers. Humanitarians. Fathers, brothers, sons, and friends, who were risking their lives everyday to help others. Our hearts are broken and our thoughts and prayers are with every victim, every family, and every person still unaccounted for.
This attack did not happen in a vacuum. For days, Hamas has openly threatened our team, our aid workers, and the civilians who receive aid from us. These threats were met with silence.
The GHF holds Hamas fully responsible for taking the lives of our dedicated workers who have been distributing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people at the foundation’s sites in central and southern Gaza.
Tonight, the world must see this for what it is: an attack on humanity. We call on the international community to immediately condemn Hamas for this unprovoked attack and continued threat against our people simply trying to feed the Palestinian people.
We will release additional information once it becomes available. Despite this heinous attack, we will continue our mission to provide critical aid to the people of Gaza.

Hamas just murdered five Palestinians—men whose only mission was to deliver aid to their own people.
There are no words for the depth of Hamas’ cruelty.
And let’s be clear: the media and “human rights” community who pretend to care about Palestinians are complicit in this too.

I do not think Americans “must” be anti (or anti-anti) anything.
Americans should love the Jewish people not because they have to…but because doing so is as American as apple pie.
Because the greatest thinkers in the history of republicanism—from John Milton to Hugo Grotius; from John Selden to John Locke; from John Adams to Ezra Stiles—understood the genius of the Jewish intellectual tradition and saw it as the cornerstone of English and eventually American liberty.
Because the Western notion of hope since the English Reformation has been inextricably bound up with God’s promises about the Jewish people, which is why the (much later!) advent of modern Zionism found such fertile soil in the English speaking world.
Because the Western scientific spirit was intimately bound up from its inception with a fascination with Hebraic history and literature—from Francis Bacon, to Isaac Newton; from Robert Boyle to Joseph Priestley.
Because the American commitment to republicanism over monarchy—enshrined in our political founding texts—was drawn directly from Jewish literature (as John Milton phrased his case against monarchy: “I follow the opinion of these Rabbis”).
Because Jewish Americans have and continue to fight, bleed and die for this country—in every single war since the American Revolution.
Because this country’s literature, political philosophy, moral character—even its geography—are deeply, beautifully Hebraic.
And because—in the end—if our neighbors don’t love us, we’ll keep on building anyway.
I don’t want a single person anywhere from sea to shining sea to be forced to love me, or compelled to be “anti-antisemitic”.
What I want to do instead is double down on the American experiment—its Biblical roots, its fierce commitment to liberty, its Hebraic heritage. There is no effort anyone could expend to “fight antisemitism” that could equal the power and promise of the American story. So let’s spend our energy telling that rousing, inspiring tale.
Because, rightly understood, there is no nation more definitionally philosemitic than ours. Let’s build it again.

Rabbi tells Senate hearing on anti-Semitism that it's "not enough" to be "not anti-Semitic."
"One must be anti-anti-Semitic," he says.
Didn't conservatives mock Ibram X. Kendi for saying this same stuff?

EXCLUSIVE: The Western Sydney hospital, which has been forced to stand down two nurses for threatening to kill Israeli patients in a vile antisemitic video, had scrubbed their social media pages which contained photos of other staff wearing pro-palestinian slogans.
Sky News can reveal Bankstown Hospital deleted evidence of a staff member wearing a shirt that called for Palestine to be free and also featured the trademark fist painted in the flag's colours.

When a mental health professional defines themselves as a “trauma therapist” and organizes their professional identity around this, there is an unintended consequence:
Their patient must organize their identity around being a victim/survivor
This is rarely an ideal outcome

“Children were forced to commit sexual acts on each other by their captures. Most of the women were sexually assaulted.”
New report prepared by dozens of experts, psychiatrists, doctors and social workers, outlines the harrowing evidence and testimonies of released Israeli at we we knew about Hamas’ treatment of the hostages:
1.Systematic Sexual Abuse:
Women and children were subjected to sexual violence, including forced sexual acts between minors and sexual assaults by captors. Some women were stripped naked, groped, whipped, and tied to beds while their captors stared at them. A woman recounted being assaulted at gunpoint.
2.Torture of Children: Children were tied up, beaten daily, and intentionally burned. Medical examinations revealed scars, burns, and signs of severe physical abuse. Some were starved and suffered traumatic experiences like being paraded with corpses.
3.Physical and Psychological Abuse: Men endured extreme physical torture, including branding with hot metal, starvation, and severe beatings across their bodies. Many captives were kept in isolation, denied access to bathrooms, and forced to relieve themselves in their confined spaces.
4.Deliberate Malnutrition: Hostages were intentionally starved, given minimal portions of rice or pita, leading to severe weight loss (10-18% of body weight). Children were particularly affected, with one case involving a child who lost 18% of their weight.
5.Psychological Torture and Humiliation: Hostages were made to witness horrific acts, including the murders, rapes, and mutilation of others, and were paraded through Gaza while crowds abused and stoned them. Many returned with severe trauma, fearing they were still in captivity or unable to eat without hoarding food.
6.Denial of Medical Care: Injured hostages and those with chronic conditions were denied medical treatment, resulting in worsening conditions and unnecessary suffering. In some cases, captors performed painful procedures without anesthesia.
The full report by Israel’s Ministry of Health was submitted to the UN this week.
