Bought back my $NVDA call after 2 days. Kept $90, dropped the risk.

Strike: $235
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $90
Collateral: $23,500 in shares
Return: 0.4% (69.9% annualized)

Holding to expiry might have squeezed out a bit more. I took the win and got my shares back with no strings.

I'm happy to hold these shares either way.

Do you close early or ride to expiry?

I still doubt myself on red days.

The doubt gets loud. The plan doesn't have to.

I wrote my rules on a green day. I follow them on the red ones.

What do you tell yourself when the account is red?

I left money on the table on purpose.

$NVDA covered call, $235 strike, 1 contract.
Opened Oct 21. Closed Oct 23.

I kept $90 on $23,500 of shares.
That's 0.4% in 2 days, or 69.9% annualized (same pace for a year).

I could have held for the last few dollars. But once most of the ther take the win and clear the risk.

What's your rule for closing early?

I never sell just one put.

I spread them out. Different strikes, different expirations. Levels and Layers.

One strike is a bet on one price on one day. Layers mean no single day decides how the month goes.

Do you sell one strike, or spread them out?

I carried a $23,500 obligation for 2 days to earn $90.

$NVDA covered call
Strike: $235
Contracts: 1
Collateral: $23,500
Net premium: $90
Return on collateral: 0.4%
Held Oct 21 to Oct 23

The risk sits on the other side of the premium.

If NVDA had run past $235, I'd have sold my shares at $235 and watched the rest go by.

That's the price of the $90.

I closed it before that mattered.

Do you track the obligation or just the premium?

I'm not posting a win rate this week.

Week of [dates]

Closed: covered calls and cash-secured puts
Net P/L: pending
Collateral: pending
Return on collateral: pending

Some rolls are still open, so the week isn't final. The win rate waits until they settle.

Do you track by the week or by the trade?

Closed a covered call on $NVDA. I left money on the table on purpose.

Strike: $235
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $90
Collateral: $23,500
Held: Oct 21 to Oct 23

2 days, 0.4% on the capital (69.9% annualized).

I could have waited for the last few dollars. I took the $90 and removed the risk instead.

Do you close early or let it run?

Opened and closed a $NOW covered call in 1 day. Net: -$31.

Strike: $150
Contracts: 1
Collateral: $15,000 in shares
Return: -0.2%
Annualized: -75.4% (1 day of math looks dramatic)

The obligation: if the stock is above $150 at expiration, my shares get sold at $150, however high the collateral, so there's no margin call. The cost is the upside I give up.

I closed it and kept the shares free. Owning them was fine.

Red days still sting. I just stopped flinching.

Doubt shows up anyway, so I read the plan I wrote when I was calm. Then I follow it.

What do you do on your worst red day?

Closed my $NVDA covered call after 2 days. Kept $90.

Strike: $235
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $90
Collateral: $23,500
Return: 0.4% (69.9% annualized)

I bought the call back instead of waiting on the last few dollars. Risk off, shares still mine.

Your delta is not a fixed number.

Delta is how much an option moves when the stock moves. Gamma is the delta of delta. It's how fast that exposure changes.

Short options carry negative gamma. Stock rallies, I get shorter. Stock sells off, I get longer.

The exposure grows the wrong way.

Gamma is biggest at the money and near expiration. Deep in or out of the money, delta stays calmer.

βœ… I recheck delta after big moves
βœ… I respect gamma most near expiration

Two days, $84, and my $15,000 is free again. Closed a covered call on $ORCL.

Strike: $150
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $84
Collateral: $15,000
Return: 0.6% in 2 days (102.2% annualized, on paper)

Opened Oct 12, closed Oct 14. I no longer owe anyone my shares at $150.

The buying power is open. What I do with it is a separate decision.

I'm happy holding the shares either way.

Do you close early or let it run to expiration?

Sold a covered call on $MSFT. My $55,500 of shares had a 5-day job.

Strike: $555
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $88
Collateral: $55,500
Held: Oct 9 to Oct 14

The shares stayed put the whole time, backing the call. That's 0.2% on the capital, or 11.6% annualized. The annualized number is just 5 days of math stretched out, not a promise.

Same process, on purpose: a covered call on $ORCL.

Strike: $155
Contracts: 1
Net premium: $47
Collateral: $15,500
Held: 5 days (Oct 9 to Oct 14)
Return: 0.3% (22.1% annualized)

Someone paid me for the right to buy my shares at $155. I closed it after 5 days and kept $47.

Small watchlist, same steps every time. That's not a lack of ideas. That's the system.

My options tracking spreadsheet was always a week out of date.

So I never knew what I'd actually collected.

ThetaStreak logs each trade I close and keeps a running total of premium collected.

No stale tabs. No guessing.

Collateral: $26,750
Return: 0.3% in 9 days (12.6% annualized)

Someone paid me $83 for the right to buy my shares at $267.50. Opened Oct 5, closed Oct 14.
