Strategy $MSTR could become the ultimate AI play.
Not because it's competing with OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic.
But because it already has something few companies can replicate: the world's largest corporate Bitcoin treasury AND an established enterprise software business with istory suggests this combination could be far more powerful than we imagine.
This is less about predicting what Strategy will become and more about exploring what history suggests could be possible.
Look at how technological innovation has transformed money throughout history:
→ Writing (c. 3200 BCE): In ancient Mesopotamia, the need to record goods, debts, and transactions helped drive the development of writing. Clay tablets became an essential tool for economic accounting.
→ Coinage (7th century BCE): Advances in metallurgy and minting enabled standardized, stamped metal coins in Lydia and Ionia, making monetary exchange more practical.
→ Paper and printing (China, 11th century): The development of paper and printing techniques enabled some of the world's first government-issued paper money, reducing reliance on physical coins for large transactions.
→ Computers (20th century): Electronic computing and telecommunications transformed banking, enabling electronic account balances, automated payment systems, and the large-scale digitization of money.
→ The internet and cryptography (2008–2009): Building on decades of advances in computing, cryptography, and distributed systems, Bitcoin introduced a decentralized monetary network that allows value to be transferred without relying on a central intermediary.
These weren't simply changes in how money was represented. They transformed how money could be recorded, transferred, stored, and used.
And in many cases, they enabled entirely new financial institutions, markets, and products. But there's a broader pattern here.
Some technologies do far more than improve a particular industry. They transform entire economies, creating opportunities for innovation that extend far beyond their original applications. Economists call these general-purpose technologies (GPTs).
In Technology and the Rise of Great Powers, Jeffrey Ding explores how the greatest economic impact of such technologies comes not simply from their invention, but from their widespread adoption and the complementary innovations they enable.
Think electricity. Think computers. And now, think AI.
The historical evolution of money illustrates how technological progress can reshape financial systems. The theory of general-purpose technologies gives us a reason to believe that AI's impact could be particularly profound.
If history teaches us anything, it's that we may be underestimating how profoundly AI could reshape money and financial markets.
And that's where Strategy gets particularly interesting.
Strategy is already the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, accumulating $BTC at a scale no other company has matched.
It's also building increasingly sophisticated financial instruments around Bitcoin, including an emerging market for Digital Credit.
But Strategy has another asset that deserves far more attention:
Decades of enterprise software experience and an existing business developing AI-powered analytics.
So what happens if Strategy manages to bring these two worlds together?
What new Bitcoin-based financial products could emerge? How could AI transform capital allocation, credit markets, risk management, or the way financial services are delivered?
The most transformative innovations may be precisely those we cannot yet imagine. History suggests that the greatest opportunities often emerge in ways few could have anticipated.
And that's where things could get REALLY interesting.
Could Strategy eventually become the most valuable company in the world?
It might sound far-fetched today. But history is full of companies that became giants by capitalizing on technological shifts few saw coming.
Imagine a future where Bitcoin becomes a major global monetary asset, Strategy continues accumulating it, and its AI capabilities help unlock entirely new financial products and revenue streams.
Strategy could evolve from being primarily a company that accumulates Bitcoin into something much bigger: a financial technology powerhouse built at the intersection of Bitcoin, AI, and capital markets.
Of course, executing on that opportunity is an entirely different challenge.
But history suggests that the biggest winners of technological revolutions aren't necessarily those who invent the technology. They're often those who figure out how to apply it at scale.
Strategy already has Bitcoin. It already has AI capabilities. The question is whether it can create something extraordinary by combining the two.
Strategy is already redefining what's possible in capital markets with Digital Credit.
AI could take that innovation to an entirely new level.

18 years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto challenged one of the most deeply embedded assumptions in modern finance:
That transferring value electronically requires trusting a financial intermediary.
9 pages were enough to demonstrate an alternative.
A reminder that some of the greatest breakthroughs begin when someone dares to question what everyone else takes for granted.
Stay curious. Question assumptions. Think independently.

🔸 Common equity vs. Digital Credit: Why might institutional investors actually WANT more share issuance?
🔸 The amplification race: What happens to Strategy, Strive, and smaller Bitcoin Treasury Companies when BTC surges 20%?
🔸 Strategy's B- credit rating: Are traditional credit rating agencies fundamentally mispricing Bitcoin-backed credit?
🔸 Anthropic's IPO: What does the repricing of AI investments tell us about the broader capital markets?

*** RE: Strategy's B- rating
This is still one of the biggest mispricings in traditional finance I have seen in my entire career.
Based on common corporate health metrics, Strategy should be closer to a AA or even AAA rating and, hence, $STRC should probably yield closer to 6%, that US AA and AAA corporate bonds have a similar duration like STRC as well.
Expect capital to continue to flow into STRC, other digital credit instruments, and ultimately into #Bitcoin...

I think we've been looking at Strategy $MSTR through the wrong lens.
Over the past few weeks, I've been quite critical of several decisions made by Strategy.
The $STRC buybacks, the massive USD reserves, the reluctance to increase dividend rates, and even some of the communication surrounding these decisions.
And I know I'm not alone.
But after listening to @CJ_Bitcoin from Strategy and @ColeMacro from Strive $ASST on @chasepalmieri's podcast, I've started questioning whether we've been using the right framework to evaluate Strategy in the first place.
Strategy and Strive are playing two very different games.
Strive is optimizing for aggressive Bitcoin accumulation, amplification, and ultimately maximizing total returns for its common shareholders.
At its current scale, Strive can grow substantially by attracting retail and high-net-worth investors who understand Bitcoin, are comfortable underwriting its risks, and are willing to accept higher yields on Digital Credit.
Strategy, on the other hand, is increasingly positioning itself to attract institutional capital at an entirely different scale.
We're talking pension funds, insurance companies, banks, and other institutions capable of deploying billions of dollars.
And here's where things get interesting.
These investors don't think like us Bitcoiners.
They don't necessarily want the highest possible yield. They want liquidity, predictability, credit protection, stability, and confidence in the issuer.
Suddenly, some of Strategy's decisions start making a lot more sense.
→ The USD reserves: Not simply idle capital that could have been deployed into Bitcoin, but an important source of confidence for investors underwriting credit risk.
→ The STRC buybacks: Not necessarily a mechanism to drive immediate price appreciation, but potentially a way to demonstrate support for the instrument and strengthen confidence in its ability to trade near par.
→ The dividend policy: Raising yields might attract another few billion from yield-sensitive investors, but it could also send the wrong signal to institutions that associate unusually high yields with distress.
→ The communication: Increasingly focused on balance sheet resilience, risk management, and institutional credibility rather than the aggressive upside narrative many retail investors want to hear.
Matt Cole made a particularly interesting point.
Even if Strategy raised its dividend rates by 200 basis points and attracted another $3–5 billion, that wouldn't fundamentally change the equation for a company of its size.
Strategy needs to figure out how to attract the next $25 billion, $50 billion, and eventually much more.
That's a completely different challenge.
Does this mean Strategy has made all the right decisions? Absolutely not. Even CJ acknowledged that the way the USD reserve was managed created problems.
And understanding the rationale behind a decision doesn't automatically make it the right one.
But perhaps we've been making a mistake by evaluating both companies against the same objectives.
We've been asking why Strategy isn't behaving more like Strive, when we should be asking whether Strategy is successfully building the infrastructure needed to bring institutional capital into Bitcoin at scale.
Strive is trying to maximize the opportunity available at its current scale. Strategy is trying to dramatically expand the scale of the opportunity itself.
And ultimately, both approaches could be enormously beneficial for Bitcoin and the entire Bitcoin Treasury industry.
The more I think about it, the more I believe we need to rethink how we evaluate these companies.
Because if they're pursuing different objectives, targeting different pools of capital, and operating at fundamentally different scales, shouldn't we also be measuring their success differently?
Different investors. Different scales. Different strategies. Different measures of success.

Strive doesn't want to be the next @Strategy.
I sat down with @ColeMacro, CEO of @Strive, for a candid conversation about bitcoin amplification, $ASST vs. $MSTR, $SATA vs. $SATS vs. $STRC , digital credit yields, dividend innovation, and Strive's aggressive approach to s.
I learned a ton, and one thing became clear: Strive and Strategy are on very different paths.

And with its $700M $SATS IPO, the race for the #2 spot is heating up!
@TylerCompiler from @BTCtreasuries joined us to break it all down.
Just look at what's happening with Strive:
→ 4,045 BTC acquired in a single , introducing a second preferred capital-raising engine.
→ Potentially 44,000+ BTC in total holdings by next week, putting Strive at the #2 spot.
And imagine what happens when the bull market kicks into gear.
We also dive into:
🔸 Strategy $MSTR spending over $1B on $STRC buybacks. Why is it still struggling to reach par?
🔸 How could $SATS strengthen $SATA, improve Bitcoin coverage, and help push it back to par?
🔸 Could Strive reach 100,000 BTC by the end of 2027?
🔸 Metaplanet's US expansion through Super Planet $SUPA.
🔸 Why perpetual preferred equities could fundamentally transform the Bitcoin Treasury industry.
The race is entering a whole new phase, and the financial engineering behind it is fascinating.

One of the most fascinating parts of this episode was hearing @YChoueifaty explain how TOBAM actually evaluates Digital Credit.
It's one thing to discuss $STRC, $SATA, $SATS, and $MORE. It's another to hear how institutional investors model and price these instruments.
Credit risk, dividend sustainability, discretionary payments, embedded optionality... There's a lot more complexity than meets the eye.
And traditional credit ratings are still far behind when it comes to Bitcoin Treasuries and Digital Credit.
The financial engineering is happening on the liability side of Bitcoin Treasury companies' balance sheets. And institutions are developing their own models to make sense of it.
Which raises an interesting question:
Who will challenge and potentially disrupt the traditional credit rating models of S&P and Moody's?
Fascinating times ahead!

Is Wall Street fundamentally mispricing Bitcoin-backed credit?
In Episode 6 of Inside the Walls, we had a fascinating conversation with @AlexandreLaizet from @_ALCPB, @Andre_Dragosch from @Bitwise, and @YChoueifaty from TOBAM.
A few particularly interesting takeaways:
→ be significantly mispriced. André argues that its yield is far above what comparable credit risk would suggest.
→ Strive $ASST is pushing financial innovation further. The introduction of $SATS, offering a 15% dividend, could actually strengthen $SATA rather than undermine it.
→ Smarter Web $SWC is opening a new frontier for Digital Credit. With £10M raised through $MORE, the UK now has its first Bitcoin-backed perpetual preferred stock, potentially paving the way for broader institutional adoption across Europe.
→ The next capital rotation could favor Bitcoin. As inflation accelerates and the AI trade cools, André sees the potential for billions to rotate from semiconductor stocks into Bitcoin over the coming months.
And we finish with a provocative discussion about Bitcoin custody:
Is "not your keys, not your coins" really scalable? Or is institutional custody an inevitable part of Bitcoin's future?
Another fantastic conversation with three incredibly insightful minds.
The financial system isn't being replaced overnight. It's being transformed from within.

Bitcoin Treasury Companies are accumulating billions in BTC.
But securing that much Bitcoin is a challenge of its own.
@YChoueifaty of TOBAM explains why even a simple hardware wallet introduces layers of trust — and why achieving true zero-trust custody is far more complicated

Can a Bitcoin Treasury company disrupt an entire industry?
That's exactly what @btconlyscott and his team at @XCEofficial $XCE are trying to achieve.
And their latest acquisition offers a glimpse of what's possible:
🔥 Revenue nearly doubled to £3.63M
🔥 8.216 BTC added to the 50K in net cash outlay
🔥 Bitcoin per share increased by over 11%
But here's where it gets interesting. $XCE isn't simply accumulating Bitcoin.
It's building a double flywheel that combines two powerful growth engines:
→ Acquiring profitable, cash-generating recruitment businesses
→ Accumulating Bitcoin and growing BTC per share
The more the operating business grows, the stronger the Bitcoin Treasury becomes.
And the stronger the Bitcoin Treasury becomes, the more attractive $XCE becomes to future acquisitions, employees, and investors.
Scott's ambitions?
- 1,000 BTC on the balance sheet
- £100M in annual revenue
- Disrupting the executive recruitment industry
We also explored the potential role of Digital Credit, the lessons from $MSTR, $ASST and $SWC, and why the next Bitcoin bull market could take this model to an entirely different level.
A fascinating conversation about entrepreneurship, capital allocation, and how Bitcoin could transform traditional businesses.
