So excited to see my thesis work out in the world! Incredibly grateful to my co-first author Chhiring, @AnnaEnim, and the many people who contributed to this work and made it possible. So much went into this one 🎉
How does interferon-alpha interfere with clonal evolution in human blood stem cells? We address it here @NatureGenet: nature.com/articles/s4158…
🎉 Congrats to our super talented students Chhiring Lama, @danielle_isakov! Wonderful collab w/ Ron Hoffman. @WCMC, @WCMCPathology

I hate seeing the term “noncompliant” in medicine.
A patient schedules an appointment, takes time off work, gets on the bus, navigates traffic, waits in the waiting room, pays a copay, and confides their deepest concerns in us and then we call them noncompliant.
It’s not right.

it’s just funny that NYC 14yr olds commute for hours alone on public transportation to get to high school but at 23 I am getting a professionalism report for not submitting a survey
love how medical students are infantilized but at the same time expected to be super professional. What am I, boss baby??

So excited to see this work come out! I’ve been ~obsessed~ with these pulsing keratinocytes since I studied them for my thesis. @ras_trophysics and @hotarcheetos did a beautiful job modeling the math behind their activity.
During this stressful time, I'll present our preprint on quantifying cell signaling using Hawkes (self-exciting) point processes. Fun collaboration w/ @toettch lead by @hotarcheetos and @ras_trophysics with work from @kazuhiroaokilab and @danielle_isakov biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
