Warrior Run/Loyalsock game notes:

The 6th-seeded Defenders come into this matchup on the back of a 21-14 victory over Mifflinburg in the quarterfinals.

They have a record of 6-5, which is quite impressive when you factor in that the program had won just 4 games in the previous 3 seasons.

This will be a matchup of two teams that score a lot of points and love to put the ball in the air.

2nd-seeded Loyalsock, 8-3, is scoring 33 points per game with their aerial assault. Senior QB Tyler Gee, who recently eclipsed 7,000 career yards, has passed for 2,375 yards this year with 28 TDs to 8 INTs. He's also the Lancers' leading rusher with 468 yards and 8 TDs.

Senior wideout Jaylen Andrews is his top target, with 52 receptions for 1039 yards and 8 TDs. He also has a punt and kick returned for a score. Also keep an eye on Jamaire Harden, who has caught 38 passes for a total 539 yards and 11 TDs.

Warrior Run defensive linemen Stone Allison and Isaiah Betz will look to break down the Lancers' o-line and keep Gee uncomfortable. The pair have combined for 31 TFLs and 16 sacks.

Offensively, the Defenders are no slouches either. Senior QB Ryan Newton is nearing a 2,000-yard season, with 1944 passing yards and 20 TDs/12 INTs. He's passed for over 5,000 career yards.

He has two great targets in Sam Hall and Carter Marr. Hall has 53 catches for 843 yards and 12 TDs, while Marr has 42 catches for 886 yards and 9 TDs. Both also have an INT return for a TD.

Newton and co. will have to keep an eye on Loyalsock's Logan Bastian, who has tallied 108 tackles for a total 25 TFLs and 5 sacks.

This is WR's first semifinal appearance since 2019, when they lost 54-12 to Montoursville. The Defenders lost in the quarterfinals last season.

Winner of this one gets the Danville/Lewisburg winner.
