DDH is not wrong here. Course correcting a large ship is challenging. It becomes near impossible when there are pockets of mutiny amongst your crew.
It's very important for leaders to understand that once you're dealing with a "rebellion" there's nothing you can do that'll appease the rebels. It'll never be enough. Not for them, not for the press egging them on. They will not rest until your head is on a spike.

Santos for Press Secretary
Day one plan as new White House press Secretary I would schedule one on one with all the reporters of the press pool to adjust their expectations… these one on ones would all be on the record and recorded.
Day two I’d hold a press plan with the team and create a collaborative environment that is streamlined from the oval throughout to deliver TRUTH and TRANSPARENT communications for the American people.
Obviously I’d NEVER let them make me the story no matter how hard they tried, I’ve done the song and dance with the DC press… it won’t work anymore with me.
A note I’d make very clear…
Any outlet trying to make me the story would simply fall into a purgatory of not being giver a single question and trust me, there were reporters that NEVWR got a question answered form me because of their snarky and unprofessional approach when I was in the house.
Make no mistake the next press secretary whoever that may be needs to have thick skin so that the press understand the line drawn in the sand!
