most of the people i meet, drawn from their old stories, know them, and speak of them in past tense; their existence is defined more by its absence than its presence. a shape burnt unto a wall that i am unintentionally, unwittingly, and uncontrollably tracing footsteps toward.
every day i think about somebody who has left my life, probably permanently, and i miss them immensely. in all honesty, this happened a while ago; by some measure, more or less a lifetime ago. somehow, i keep finding myself haunting new spaces they've already been.

first principles thinking is incredibly powerful, but if you use it frequently you are probably a moron who hasn’t taken the the time to develop good heuristics and/or intuition.
