Happy Native American Heritage Month, @chicago!

Our city wouldn’t be the same without the contributions, culture, and history of our Native communities. From the development of Jigzibik affordable housing to our annual Native American Heritage Month reception, Chicago's Native ave an advocate and voice in my administration.

Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and share memories of loved ones.

Thank you to the Latina Sweat Project for inviting me to join their annual Día de los Muertos event in Little Village and place an offering on the ofrenda for my late brother Leon.

From reopening mental ding CARE, my administration is proud to support organizations like the Latina Sweat Project who support the mental health and wellness of Southwest Side residents, the same services I wish had been available for my brother Leon before he passed.

A Halloween safety poster from Smart911 features a tipped-over pumpkin bucket spilling candy. It highlights the importance of using Smart911, a free emergency service. The poster lists safety tips, including keeping a child's photo on hand, instructing children on opening doors only for known individuals, using a buddy system for group outings, and using a reflective item to increase visibility. It encourages signing up for Smart911 to provide essential household information to 9-1-1 responders during emergencies.
