Nick Lowe confirmed in the letters page of ASM that Pepe Larraz is already working on his next “monumental” arc of Amazing Spider-Man. We just don’t know what it is yet. Let the speculation begin.

The only thing better than seeing Peter cut loose and demolish an opponent who richly deserves it is seeing Peter drop the jokes and show an enemy who underestimates him the kind of backbone he really possesses, and we get both in this excellent conclusion to the Ravage arc.

Fun fact: Back in 1992 when Marvel first decided they wanted to do a line of books set in the future (at the time it was going to be called Marvel 2092), Dan Slott pitched SPIDER-MAN 2092!

Thank you!!
I did not expect to read an all-timer issue of Amazing Spider-Man tonight, but Amazing Spider-Man #1001 is unmistakably that. An exceptional follow-up to #1000. Emotionally devastating and also one of the most beautifully illustrated Spider-Man comics ever published.

I’m fully on board for Spider-Man vs Miracleman. Zdarsky has described Peter as the moral center of the Marvel universe. Meanwhile, I don’t trust David Colton with his newfound power.

The air was SUCKED out of the theater when Michael Keaton opened that door in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017).
What’s a movie scene that completely blew your mind the first time you saw it?
The kind of moment where you had to sit there for a second and process what you’d just watched.

Midnight Spider-Man captures Peter Parker’s youthful ambitions in a contemporary way, injecting the origin with class commentary and musings on power that fit its horrific approach. All that, along with ScieTronc’s art, could make this one of my new favorite takes on Spider-Man…

I Can Never Rest feels like it's in conversation with There For You. Both highlight Spider-Man's never-ending story on a somewhat meta-textual level. While 801 focuses on the comfort provided by Spider-Man's ongoing existence, 1000 emphasizes his eternal guilt & inner turmoil.

RIP Joshua Cassara. At SDCC 2024, Josh drew a small Spider-Boy for me. He was a lovely guy.

Generally speaking, I’d argue Aunt May being alive is better for Spider-Man. Peter benefits from having more civilian, human supporting cast members to ground him in the real world. And maybe Spider-Man’s character development shouldn’t exclusively revolve around fridging women?
