how to use boat.dev?

tell this to your agent:

"onboard me on boat.dev till we have a first VM up and then build a QA bot that sends me a fast demo video & report when I send a msg describing a feature on telegram, & can do multiple in parallel"
Introducing boat.dev

the VM sandbox with the fastest CPU
and the lowest price per hour

ideal for long-running or always-on agents

had agents running last friday in a bunch of sandboxes

i forgot to turn them off during the weekend, but it was so cheap on boat.dev that i didn't care

if you're not using boat you are literally lighting money on fire for zero reason

bring your girl on the boat

(literally one customer introed us to his gf who became a new customer)
fellas, if your girl:

- wakes up very quickly
- runs absurdly fast
- has great memory
- can do 2000 things at once
- has great curves

it's not your girl, it's a swarm of 2000 Ryzen 9 9900X with 16 vCPU x 32gb xlarge VMs at $0.2/h per VM on boat.dev

just got access to abliterated chinese models on @morphllm for cyberdefense

prompted to pentest us for:

> cross tenant secret leaking, penetration or spying
> guest-host takeover
> control pane takeover

ngl our engineering is good, it's struggling, we're gonna need real pros

boat is the boat for CI
on boat.dev cloud VMs on a $250 budget you can spin up in <2s from a snapshot:

> 17k typical CI runs (6.5x cheaper than on blacksmith)
> 31k RL runs (8x cheaper than on daytona)
> 868 coding agents for 8hr

on 4c x 8gb x 50gb nvme, ryzen 9 full VMs

you can now go above your starts/day/hour/minutes limits on boat.dev
boat offers the least expensive full VMs for agents at $0.00001/s for 4c 8gb ram 50gb nvme

to further protect these prices historically we've had to cap the n° VMs starts / day

we raised the limits 2 times already, and today we add a way to burst above them, up to 3x, using get up to 25% free credits for starts, snapshots & VM time by buying more of them upfront

the kind of spiky workloads we saw in prod that benefit from bursting remain 4x to 8x less costly on boat.dev than Daytona, E2B or Modal

and it's now way less frustrating to pull them off

on boat.dev more than anywhere else, the generous compute pricing aligns closely & sustainably with real costs

nice try

we spun up 700 boat.dev VMs 4c x 8gb, started codex + minecraft, made it all play in multiplayer together

they all booted from a snapshot in the first 10s, which cost $0.07, same price per VM, core & ram

but much more impressive capabilities and scale
We spun up 100 instabox.sh VMs and started Claude Code in all of them (with their desktops recorded)

400 vCPU, 800 GB RAM in total

All ready in 10s, and only $0.01 cost

cheaper VMs = you can spawn more VMs = your agents do more work = you make more money = you come back next month to spawn more
new on boat.dev

compare sandbox/cloud VM providers not just by cost,

but by how much you can scale your fleet on different usecases with a set budget

cheaper = scale more

boat is winning even harder when you look at it like that

believe it or not
boat likes trains
launching agents that run 24/7 on cloud

its like a steam engine that doesn't stop

you can run multiple bots run in parallel with each bot having its own @boatdotdev computer

it can also use your local computer unlike Grok @bot

self-host it or get the cloud workspace one click MyUju

with this we are also launching a team plan which can have shared bots across your team

more on that soon @mausbot_

@boatdotdev and deepseek v4.1 flash is the ultimate combo

both so cheap/fast that i been spinning up like +10 sandboxes and like 100 dsv4.1f agents at once

and it barely costs $20

@boatdotdev is an amazing service and it's massively undersold. So I'm going to list everything I love abt it

- spinning up a vm takes 1.3 sec, and forking a running one takes 3
- insanely good dx on snapshots. set a box up once and every new one boots from there
- you can build android apps. gradle, kotlin and java are there, and an android 14 image comes preloaded to run them on
- you can build windows apps. wine runs .exe files, and you can boot a whole windows 10 vm inside it
- there's a desktop you can access over vnc at 60 fps
- computer use for u agents built in. including a screen recorder
- every harness is already installed: claude code, codex, cursor, opencode, pi, kimi, vibe, hermes, openclaw
- agents know how to spin up more boats(life changing)
- basically every language is ready: node, bun, python, go, rust, java, kotlin, .net, ruby, php, elixir, r

oh also i guess it's cheap asf
