I think @getserval is the fastest-growing enterprise system of record in history (I'm not 100% sure, but I haven't been able to falsify the hypothesis).

That's cool, but the real story is why. Why are things working so well?

First and foremost, @jakeserval @AlexAtServal @TatianaBirgisso and the rest of the team have a unique blend of passion, clear-thinking, creativity, and pace... they do the right things with a high degree of craft and quality, quickly.

Second, the product they built is amazing. It has a natural insertion point into any enterprise, and then it just keeps spreading from one team to the next. Easy entry with widespread adoption is a powerful dynamic.

Finally, the market is wide open. IT needs an AI-native platform to call their own, and Serval hit the nail on the head.

It's been a pleasure to work with @getserval alongside my partner @biad_anas, and we are beyond thrilled to double down!
We raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia. Our third round in 12 months, bringing our total funding to $277M.

Our team has grown 10x in the last 12 months. We now serve Fox Corporation, WPP, Live Nation, Lucid Motors, and Ramp, and many of them are fully rms with @getserval.

AI coding tools have transformed how engineers work. Serval brings that same power to every team, so anyone can build governed automations across the systems they already use.

We’re hiring 500+ people over the next year and expanding in San Francisco, NYC, London, Austin, and beyond.

If you’re down to take on legacy enterprise systems and transform how teams work, my cofounder @AlexAtServal and I would love to meet you.

It’s Serval now.

After BMC acquired BladeLogic and I became President, I inherited the Remedy business. I saw firsthand how ServiceNow used the shift from on-premise software to SaaS to disrupt incumbents like Remedy and Peregrine.

History is repeating itself. Serval is poised to do the same to ServiceNow with AI. Congrats to @jakeserval and the @getserval team!
BREAKING: Serval has raised $150M at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia.

You were made to build things. We made it easy.

AI gave engineers the power to describe a need and ship it immediately. We’re bringing that power to teams across the enterprise.

Now, everyone from IT to beyond can turn plain language into secure, governed automations to tackle everything from simple service requests to complex process layers.

And word is getting out. We're grateful to serve the likes of @tryramp, @WeAreLegora, @vercel, and Fox Corporate, along with two of the Fortune 20 who joined the party in the last 6 months.

Now, we’re hiring 500+ people across every function while opening offices in New York City, London, and Austin over the next year.

Legacy software wasn’t built for the AI era. It’s Serval now.

Special thanks to @sequoia for leading the round, to @eladgil, Evantic, @firstround, @generalcatalyst, @Redpoint, and Tenacity for doubling down, and @conviction and @HeadlineVC for joining.

We raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia, to give everyone in the enterprise the power to build and automate like an engineer.

In under two years, AI coding tools have transformed how engineering teams work. Engineers describe what they want and ship it the ame for everyone. From IT and HR to legal, security, talent, marketing, and beyond.

We’ve onboarded two of the Fortune 20 in the last six months and doubled ARR every quarter since our Series B. Customers include @FOXCorp, @WPP, @LiveNation, and @tryramp.

Now the hard part. Bringing @getserval to every employee means:

→ Trust at scale: agents never get more power than the person asking

→ Reliability for people who don’t write code

→ Agents that find and fix problems before anyone realizes something is wrong

→ One system of record for every department

In the last 12 months, the team has grown by 10x. Now we’re hiring the best engineers in the world to build what’s next.

We @sequoia are thrilled to lead a consecutive round at @getserval, this time their Series C.

When we first partnered with Serval last year, we knew we had found an exceptional team with the right platform and the strongest tailwind (the rise of AI) to win. We had high m, and since then they have even exceeded those expectations on both (1) the input - the strength of the team they have assembled, and (2) the output - the revenue growth, the quality of that revenue (system-of-record), the scale of their customers (large enterprises and Fortune 500s), and the value and ROI they deliver to them. From the data we’ve seen, Serval is on a trajectory to be the fastest-growing enterprise system-of-record company in history.

Enterprise-wide AI automation is the holy grail. Serval’s mission of empowering IT is the most scalable and elegant way to deliver automation to every department in the enterprise, and today Serval is used across 13 departments per customer on average.

AI coding unlocked engineers, but that’s a small part of an organisation. If you want to work on coding agents for every department and close the gap between what AI is capable of and how enterprises actually use it, Serval is hiring across the board and globally. It’s Serval Now!

Physical AI is taking off 🚀

Listen to @joshavata at @MeckaAI and my partner @sonyatweetybird dive into where things stand today, the biggest challenges, and the exciting future ahead! 👇
Biological intelligence to bootstrap robotic intelligence?

If robotics is about to enter its golden age, @MeckaAI is one of the companies feeding it, by sensorizing humans to train robots.

The biggest challenge robotics faces is the data flywheel cold start problem. LLMs got a e internet: trillions of tokens, already written. Robotics gets nothing. Someone has to go create the training data to jumpstart the system.

@joshavata is the co-founder and CEO of Mecka, the data and deployment company for physical AI. Josh read every robotics paper he could find in late 2024, visited the labs, and made a bet: humans and humanoids look the same, so humans could act as the training fleet. Egocentric data, first-person video of people doing real work, could become vital fuel.

Two years ago, the biggest egocentric dataset was Ego4D at 4,000 hours. The field is now in the millions of hours, thanks in part to Mecka. We’re probably still orders of magnitude of training data away from robotics nirvana. But every rung on the physical intelligence ladder unlocks real commercial tasks. And eventually, Josh imagines a world with an order of magnitude more robots than people, of a plurality of shapes and sizes and use cases, as the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy foretold :)

A few things we cover in this conversation.

- Why robotics has no cold start: pixels, actions and logic, and why pre-training data is a real market in robotics in a way it never was for LLMs

- What “teaching robots about carbon life” means: in sci-fi the final frontier is organic. The human brain runs on 20 watts and self-heals

- The egocentric bet: teleop couldn’t scale, humans and humanoids share a form, so Waymo-fy the humans. The first pilot was aunties and uncles recording themselves cooking on a mobile app

- Force data: video can’t tell a robot how hard to squeeze an egg. Wrist cameras are a hack. Mecka built the gloves instead

- Inside the data factory: a consumer app that streams your tasks, a B2B engine recruiting across “the taxonomy of all physical human work,” 100-gigabit upload lines, hundreds of petabytes

- Millions of hours vs. Tesla’s decade on two degrees of freedom, and why it’s a slow creep up, not a GPT-3 moment

- The home has the most data and is the hardest place to deploy. Laundry folding and assembly-line pick-and-place get solved in the next year or two

- Useful robots already exist: hotel delivery and cleaning bots in China and Southeast Asia, industrial cleaning in the US. Humanoids are the terminal state, not the first step

- Deployment diffusion: a modern systems integrator whose installed robot does something next week it couldn’t do last week. If Mecka ever helps deploy a robot that mines an asteroid, they’ve done their job

- The data pot of soup: a million hours of human data, tens of thousands of UMI, a few hours of in-domain teleop. Tactile and simulation haven’t entered the mix yet

- Move 37 for robotics: AlphaGo went behavior cloning, then self-play, then magic. The catch is the rules of the game are the entire physical world, and we don’t have the simulator yet

- Will the AGI labs steamroll robotics? “It takes a lot of courage to scale up data with imperfect information.”

- The Kawasaki Corleo, the robot panther-dog-horse on Mecka’s conference room wall, and why the future of robotics looks like Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Frontier models still struggle to accurately understand human video data for robotics

The biggest gap is actions: GPT-Astra hits 71.5% accuracy, Meckas custom trained model achieves 94%

@tkkong + @philhchen evaluates Meckas video understanding model against the frontier below
Today, we're sharing results from our partnership with @MeckaAI to see if frontier models can label egocentric videos for robot learning.

We had five frontier models caption 200 clips with human grading.

GPT-6 Astra which performed the best got 43.5% of clips fully correct.

We @sequoia are thrilled to lead @MeckaAI’s Series B. AI took the digital world by storm; bringing it into the physical world will be a wave at least as large, but harder - it demands excellence across research, hardware, software, operations and deployment.

That is the mission opian and the Mecka AI team have taken on: helping physical AI labs, robotics companies and enterprises reach physical AGI, as their partner for training data, RL and deployment. They built differentiated advantages in each discipline and combined them into a strong, scalable and flexible platform that has helped them win over many of the leading AI labs and robotics companies and quickly become the emerging leader in this category.

That is why we are excited to back them, and why NVIDIA, Samsung, Microsoft and Qualcomm joined the round, alongside exceptional founders and operators including Tony Xu, Frank Slootman, Milan Kovac, Jonathan Chadwick and many more.
