As a Christian you are commanded to engage in culture and to be salt and light to the world. The idea that Christianity and politics should be separate completely ignores the teachings of the Bible and life of Christ.
Jesus constantly confronted the Jewish leaders and local authorities and called them out publicly. Jesus called the political leaders of the Jews the ‘sons of the devil’ and ‘white washed tombs.’ Jesus made whips and flipped tables in rebellion against powers that offended God. They charged Jesus with insurrection against the State.
Romans 13 tells our rulers to bear the sword for the terror of evil men. That we must uphold righteousness in our nations. This is a call for good men to be in positions of power. Throughout the Bible God blesses nations and their leaders.
After Christ the apostles went throughout the world and involved themselves in everyday events and proclaimed truth in the face of hostile power and we should do the same.
If Christian’s don’t engage in politics then politics will be used to end Christianity. Christians —Vote.
