Intelligence must never become a luxury reserved for those who can afford it. Open intelligence is foundational to human equality, opportunity, and civilizational progress. Those who seek to undermine it stand against humanity’s shared advancement.

This money can feed more than 20 million people for 10 years.
The war will cost 155 billion euros next year. And we need at least 70 billion euros more from you – for defense, for weapons, and for our resilience. This is a realistic amount. And I ask you to find this support. It will help us hold Russia back.

There are some very simple sian assaults on the front line thanks to drones. We cut Russian supply lines with these technologies. And our drones are helping to weaken Russia’s economy.

Right now, we could produce two or three times more drones – depending on the type. But we simply don’t have enough money for that. It’s true. Just imagine if we could put two or three times more pressure on Russia than we do today.

From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (4/5)

Bro quietly solved the biggest hurdle for Nigerians trying to sell their stuff abroad
👑
It’s a bit crazy to think that you need to register a US company just to accept international card payments as a developer in Africa

That’s one of the things we set out to change when we started building Bachs

Where you’re from shouldn’t determine whether you can sell to the world!

With Bachs you can accept international card payments from 135+ currencies without a US company or USD bank account and get settled in Naira, 20+ other fiat currencies or Stablecoins!

If you’ve ever struggled to access Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy or Dodo Payments because of where you’re based, give @bachs_hq a try

Build from anywhere. Get paid globally.

Lagos Life launched on October 1st. Just 9 days later, over 4.7 million people have played the game.

Today, I’m excited to announce that Vatar, the parent company behind Lagos Life, has closed a $500K angel round led by AB Hassan (@ijbguy), Nathan Nwachuku (@_KingNath), and GB ).

Lagos is just the beginning. We’re building entire worlds, and there’s so much more to come. 🌍

DHH is fundamentally right about Rust. For context, Vercel has been undergoing a Rust-ification (carcinization, technically 🦀) for a while.

One of the first projects we migrated was Turborepo, from Go to Rust¹. The migration completed, but the RoI was actually quite controversial internally.

While Rust was in our eyes better for low-level OS access, something crucial for a build system like Turbo, the human migration costs were very sustantive.

Go is very fast. It's beautifully designed. It's easy to iterate on. We were very conflicted about the migration, because it was *humans* writing the code, *even if we knew Rust was a better choice*.

The calculus has now changed. What's "best for humans" is no longer necessarily "best for business".

FWIW, it's also quite unlikely that Rust is the end-all-be-all toolchain. I'm quite certain there's greener pasture ahead, because Rust itself was designed before the 'supersonic tsunami' of agents hit.

A few years ago, the challenge was finding opportunities to invest your time in. Today, the challenge is choosing among hundreds of seemingly important opportunities.

Replying to @dhh
Speed is not the only consideration for a code base. Rust has other drawbacks, like slow compile times. But you really have to bury your head in the sand not to see that when agents write the code and validate the output, we need to adjust to a new reality.

all of my optimism for nigeria hinges on the fact that we get our politics right eventually. all progress and shared prosperity is downstream of good governance.

but here we are in 2026. the same recurring themes of tribalism and bigotry. even from the young people who should know better.

life has a way of teaching you the same lessons until you learn by force. and if you still refuse to learn, then you will die a fool. the universe will show you no mercy.

if we cannot figure out how to accept each other, respect each other and work together in this contraption called Nigeria, then we are doomed to perish.

and quite frankly we lose the right to blame the government or anyone else but ourselves, since we obviously enjoy our suffering and are not ready to grow up.

i need your help!

i'm building Tilawa: a free engine that lets Quran apps follow your recitation and help catch mistakes.

if you can read the Quran, record a few short clips following the prompts, then share this with friends.

each takes ~20 seconds: tilawa.dev/help/
FINALLY. solved verse tracking and having a really strong shot at doing verse correction AT THE SAME TIME

sll this is made possible because of the amazing work on ZipFormer by the folks at Quran Lab, especially Mustafa Mehdi and Tarek Mansour.

i took that same model and er dataset, and I was able to improve on the results of the vanilla model they'd made available. (i did hear they're in the process of developing an even better model; look forward to seeing what that's about!)

so, what does solved verse tracking mean?

It means that you can do tracking from voice for any Quranic verse, and it is *extremely* accurate. it worked 100% of the times that I've actually tried it..

there's a public demo on tilawa.dev that you can try out yourself

what's more, the model is only ~65MB, which is absolutely insane!

how do I know it's working well? we have a corpus of information on the open source repo, and the thing KILLED. The only samples it failed on were those that were ambiguous, where you wouldn't even be able to tell which verse it is until you read the entirety of the verse...

So that's how good it is!

the remaining weaknesses are around correction. It's not always accurate, and sometimes it forgets to correct certain errors. that's something I'm taking a crack at, and will keep the SDK up to date.

Check out the demo on tilawa.dev, and if you're working on a Quran app or web app, we have SDKs that make it a piece of cake to integrate this directly into your apps!

This is why I love Web apps, no one is installing anything, just a click and it works. Users dont need to manage app updates, they instantly see changes.

The only reason native mobile apps make sense is deeper hardware integration.
I built a game where you drive a danfo through Lagos 🚌
Load passengers, dodge okadas, beat the traffic. Plays in your browser, no download.
