please listen to dessa.

i have never heard anything artificial that sounded so… human.

if you ever doubted that human-ai-relationships were going to be a thing. well. this snippet will convince you otherwise.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

very few people realize that that the biggest achievement here is not the 5M in net worth.

amazing, mate!
I finally reached the magic number of $5M in net worth 🥳

This isn’t all cash. It’s everything combined:

+ My 36 startups (90%+ of their value comes from DataFast & TrustMRR)
+ Investments (85%+ in the S&P 500)
+ Cash

What surprises me most is getting here at 33 without ever:

- Workiday
- Building anything grandiose
- Working for someone else
- Doing work I don’t like
- Going to an office

Don’t you dare give up :)

working with agents really makes you cynical and an expert in gaslighting.

one day its the smartest person (?) in the room, proactive, creative and just to the point. next day it commits faulty db migrations to prod, sends an email to the authorities that your GDPR notice is non-compliant and denies doing so in the end.

*sigh*

opus 5.5 is great btw.

the level of arrogance required to pull this off is honestly mind-boggling.
I finally tested GPT-6 Sol on a real work. 2 repos. 105 hidden bugs. Find and fixed what you can.

It looks like a huge degradation. The results:
- GPT-6 Astra (max): 45
- GPT-5.6 Sol (max): 43.5
- Opus 5.5 (max): 41.7
- Muse Spark 1.3 (max): 32.2
- GPT-6 Sol (max): 29.3

Until PI-equivalent):
- GPT-6 Astra (max): $33.04
- GPT-5.6 Sol (max): $95.25
- Opus 5.5 (max): $58.53
- Muse Spark 1.3 (max): $18.11
- GPT-6 Sol (max): $9.93

More effort levels (xhigh, high, medium, low) dropping in this thread today 🧵

sol-6 is worse than sol-5.6.

i have just switched out 5.6 for 6 on a super simple classification task i have running (match company to one or more categories) and benchmarks droped sharply.

same prompt. same input. objectively worse performance.

i feel like all of the benchmarks are fake at this point and even if the model performance is benchmarked right, the lab will just silently serve you a weaker/quantized model.

how do we break this fraud cycle?

"don't look up"
Listened to the full debate. My god it was a massacre. You can tell Soares and Yamplowsky have been thinking seriously about things, while Zitron and the other guy seem to be examining them for their second time.

If this was the only piece of ASI content my p(doom) would be >90%

depletion has been stupidly fast recently.

i have burned through two banked resets in 48h on 20x.

codex has never felt this tight.
Since the Codex reset yesterday, I already depleted the weekly limits of one of my Codex accounts.

This account exlusively uses GPT-5.6 Sol. I'm tracking all token consumption through my OpenClaw setup, so it's very easy to compare to previous periods.

Limits are now exhausting 4.8-5.9x faster than they did just 2 months ago while consumption is now around ~18% slower.

Same reasoning efforts, same mixed type of work.

The token rug pull is coming.
Get ready to pay up.

tore my back yesterday on "easy" deadlifts.

my 1RM is 175kg (385lbs, 2.3x bw) and i could already feel at 100kg that i was having a REALL bad deadlift day.

decided to push through and still go hard anyway.

welp... second set of 120 i felt a sharp little snap in my back and dropped the weight. it really scared me for a bit.

today it still feels sore but at least i can lift my daughter and i can tell it's nothing "serious" but just a nerve pain.

let this be a reminder to do deadlifts carefully and in a good mental and physical state.
you're tired, worn, under slept or stressed? go for high reps and significantly lower weight.
My squat is 125 kg/275 lbs/1.6x bw (intermediate)
My bench is 100 kg/220 lbs/1.3x bw (intermediate)
My deadlift is 125 kg/275 lbs/1.6x bw (novice)

I think wanna move slowly from intermediate to advanced I think, I don't need to be elite lifter

My deadlift now is way too low for bench are, but that's because I've always been scared of breaking my back with it, so I was always careful, so I am fixing that now

But I am very very proud of myself, I used to be skinny 50 kg and weak! Now I'm 75kg and very strong!

Intermediate level lifting is stronger than ~50% of lifters (not society!), advanced is stronger than ~80%, elite is stronger than ~95%. If you look society wise, these lifts make me stronger than 95% of people, because most people don't even lift!

I always find it funny when you post lifts you get anon accounts calling you weak, which makes no sense, just going to the gym 3x per week, you're probably stronger than 95% of people! Which for me is a big achievement 👏

there is a rampant boomer-scam "it support" industry and a member of my family fell for it.

a real registered company in spain. real invoices, vat numbers, trust seals on the website. they cold-called him, talked for an hour, and sold him a 3-year "security package" for over they called again and sold him an "upgrade" for 2k€ more, on top of the contract he already had.

by the time anyone in the family noticed, they were everywhere. remote access software on his computer. one of their routers plugged in at home. a SEPA mandate on his account. the big payment done by wire transfer, the one method you can't charge back. his amex got blocked for scam activity somewhere in the middle of all this.

every email you send them triggers a friendly phone call within hours to "clarify things". nothing in writing, ever. the phone call is the product.

he's an educated man. an engineer. this stuff is built for exactly the people who raised us.

check your parents' bank statements.

this is very painful to me.

my daughter is an extremely happy and fun 5-month-old but as soon as we put her in a car seat (we have tried multiple), she goes absolutely berserk. crying we do not know from any other situation.

absolutely nothing helps. except one thing: a stupid jumping animals.

but her stare while watching is haunting me. it shows me how freaking dangerous and drug-like screens are.

and it builds this conflict: i don’t want to make her an addict to technology but i also don’t want to leave her suffering.

so maybe 20min a week is fine?

or is it?

do not overwhelm your agents!

this might be a skill issue on my end but for the love of god do not give your agents massive unstructured tasks or they will end up in a death loop.

i have been on a 48h quest to untangle a large db migration and for lack of a better description: both fable and sol are overwhelmed!

they stab at the issues one bug at a time, create new ones on the go then get restricted by their harnesses having me execute commands manually for them.

i hope this is over soon. what a mess.

codex deadlocked for 24 hours and quietly burned half my weekly 20x usage doing nothing.

fable is cleaning it up now.

how was your weekend?

just got charged for refilling my bottle at a HYDROGEN WATER dispenser. by accident. i swear.

hydrogen water, for the uninitiated, is water with EXTRA hydrogen.

yes. the H in H2O. that hydrogen. more of it.

it means nothing. it's stupid people water. non-physics-understanding, ce-your-name water.

and i paid for it.

a few months ago i started contributing to open source projects i actually use.

got this super nice compliment by @jmitch.

still can't get over the fact that you can just fix things now. software you love, made slightly better, by you.
