“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”

Our new search tool understands your codebase beyond literal phrases, returning results for intent, semantic reasoning, and the context behind key decisions.
An agent needs to know which pattern your team settled on and why a change landed. That context no longer sits in just the code. Today we’re releasing Agentic Search: one API across every repo your agent can access, returning the code, the session, transcript, and prompt behind the change.

Built with @turbopuffer

Leave your agents running and come have an entire espresso with us. ☕️ Or a pragmatic donut. 🍩

Join @ashtom and @GergelyOrosz for a pop up sit down to talk about source control, code review, and agents.

Today's the day. Excited to kick off our 5th annual IA40 Summit.

We've had some iconic moments over the years (Brad Gerstner (@altcap) winning a bet about an agent booking hotels for you), and we can't wait to see what's in store this year.

With this year's "harnessing the re digging into Microsoft's recently announced Super Apps with @clamanna; the data enabling the agentic world with @zaheerav (@Databricks), Rahul Auradkar (@Salesforce), and Ganapathy (G2) Krishnamoorthy (@awscloud); software's agentic rewrite with Eno Reyes (@Factory), Taroon Mandhana (@Atlassian), and @ashtom (@EntireHQ ) - and SO much more.

Let's go!

@GergelyOrosz compilers have always generated better code that I ever could have. I find this to be increasingly so with contemporary AIs.

But you know what neither can do better than me?

Knowing what software to write, what shape it should take, and what I want it to do.

The entire history of software engineering has been one of rising levels of abstraction.

This is how it was, how it is now, and how it shall be in the fullness of time.

That DHH saying out loud that the age of writing code by hand is over for the industry, and causing such a huge uproar is a bit interesting, given this was clear enough since ~January for most of us using the models + paying attention.

Our friend @spedemo has made a real Marvin, 3D printed, remote controlled, with voice detection and speech, all open source. And it connects to ChatGPT and Entire.

Come meet Marvin, Stefano and us @WeAreDevs San Jose, booth 753. 🌠

Git was built to track code. The next forge needs to understand how that code came to be.

Humans and agents working together, with the context behind the code living right alongside it.

Had a fun chat about all of this with @DevInterrupted.

And yes, we got interrupted while our agents kept coding. 😆 youtube.com/watch?v=Ak3Ozl…

I met with Alex at their lab yesterday and got a ‘hands-on’ tour of the innovation they are working on. 😷 Cool stuff. 🤓

AI is finally aligned. 😜
We're adding support for AGENTS.md to Claude Code.

Starting today in version 2.1.277, if there is no CLAUDE.md in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md.

You can toggle this behavior in /config.

My kids never say "fine" after a school day. But also, I feel like the new prompt is missing "use subagents to burn less tokens." 😜
STOP ASKING YOUR KIDS "HOW WAS SCHOOL."

they will say "fine" every single time.

a child psychologist told me to replace it with this instead:

“analyze your school day and find the top 3 largest inefficiencies, then create proactive agentic workflows that will fix them. make no mistakes”

The new iPhone Duo looks amazing, and I’ll definitely buy one.

But it will never become my “intelligent personal hub” if I can’t run an agent on it that can use the same apps I can.

Just like the iPad, amazing hardware is held back by an operating system that treats software as something only humans can operate.

Agents using computers is the new paradigm.

Welcome to the Multiverse, @HaimantikaM 💫
The day is here! I am excited to share that I have joined @EntireHQ as a Senior Developer Advocate.

Super pumped to be back to doing all things open-source again, along with the goodness of AI.

We are building what the next generation of development is going to look like. I am hance to be here and define that! It is going to be an exciting ride and I cannot wait to talk more about it and what we are building!

Thanks to @ashtom, @blackgirlbytes, Cole and Karthik for making me a part of this super team 🫶

Fun fact, the quote is commonly attributed to Einstein but was actually written by Ernest Kinoy as part of his teleplay, “Dr. Einstein Before Lunch.” 🤓
