My first thought when I saw this in the Rails community survey.
"Holy crap."

Am thinking of shutting down the Ruby (and other) T-shirts store I’ve been running.

Is a fun experiment but can’t justify the running costs! Unless I can work out a way to at least make it revenue neutral.

Holy shit. Robot taxis in Austin. Completely mind blowing.

The journey begins to Austin.
Not saying that coffee options are limited at 6:45AM on a Sunday in Brighton but, I’ve had better.

We’re just a few days away from Rails World in Austin.

Looking forward to catching up with old friends, meeting some new ones, and revisiting Austin. It’s been a few years.

I’ll be giving my keynote, “The Most Valuable Engineer Isn’t Shipping Features,” on Tuesday afternoon. h this one for a while… looking forward to finally sharing it.

Keep an eye out for a number of my fellow @planetargon teammates, too. We’ll be wandering around and would love to talk shop… @rails, legacy apps, modernization, AI, or whatever you’re curious about these days.

Come find us. Let’s unpack a few things together. 🤠

I think this one is underrated.

"Hi there, just giving you a call about your AWS usage at your business"
"That's weird, we don't use it"
"Azure?"
"Nope"
<stunned silence>

Quick this year right?

Look at these lovely folks, wouldn't it be great to shake their hands in a week's time?

Today is Raffa’s final day after nearly sixteen years. He’s been in heart failure for a few weeks, now at the point where we’d be keeping him around for us and not for him.

Having, loving & losing a dog feels both ridiculous & deeply profound. Lots of tears at my place today.

Is anyone going to @brightonruby and would be willing to buddy up with this junior looking to network? Or at the very minimum, drop them some advice on Reddit? reddit.com/r/rails/commen… cc: @andycroll

Excited to be speaking at @brightonruby this June! Looks like quite a lineup for Ruby/Rails builders.

I'll also be hosting a workshop the day before on AI adoption with your team.

Ruby friends — who's going?

The inflection trilogy ends.

In a world of AI there's one father-figure 90s robot we can believe in.
