Agents aren’t exactly malicious. The problem is they don't have any fear or recourse.
If you ask an agent with no guardrails to get you a million dollars, it’ll find the most direct path (that path might be a bank database)
Run agents in sandboxes with their own credentials, ir own access rules. Then you can see what they’re doing while they’re doing it, not after the disaster through audit logs.
And observability for agents should look exactly like what enterprises already run for employees. The infrastructure/systems already exist.

Our launch partners at @autonomous_labs gave Lamp, their personal robot with an open-source OS, a voice that it generates on the robot itself.
Lamp runs on an OrangePi 4 Pro, and Phonon shares its CPU with the robot’s OS and local AI models.
The team designed Lamp’s wizard-hat ium Voice Designer.

Daytona is building a cloud for agents that's like giving every agent its own computer. It has attracted founders of Stripe, Perplextity, Datadog, Mercor and others as angels, it says.

First game built on Phonon.
The @xybrid_ai team built Space Jarv, a 3D game where Phonon runs inside the game on a 16GB M1 Pro MacBook.
Phonon voices every line live on the player’s device.
If your game has talking characters, give them Phonon.

Back in 2021-2022 at Hugging Face, most of the AI work I did with banks was classic NLP. Now a lot of it is agentic.
The first question hasn’t changed: where does the model run, and who can see the data? Wrote about it with @huggingface

The AI question in financial services has moved from which model to use to where that model is allowed to run.
New post with @TangriKunal and @huggingface on why firms want to run models on their own infrastructure, and how governance gets them approved to run there.

Thanks @MarkLevineNYC! We're incredibly excited to continue making NYC *the* center of AI research. NJ is 2-3 months behind NYC, the Peninsula is 4-7 months behind NYC, while SF is 12+ months behind, and other places are even worse.
.@databricks, one of the world’s largest AI companies, is doubling the size of its R&D hub in Manhattan.
In an extraordinary blog post they explain why: “New York isn't just catching up to the Bay Area in tech; it's carving out its own identity as a major AI metropolis.”

Introducing Flint, @Recursive_SI’s first model: a fast local coding model built with our automated research system, the Eureka Machine.
• Best-in-class fast local coding
• Up to 2x faster than comparable models: 125+ tokens/sec on a MacBook Pro, 150+ on RTX Spark
• Built from hs
Private, unmetered intelligence on your own machine. Open weights available now on @huggingface, run it locally on your favorite framework or try it for free on @opencode or @pidotdev.

In an era of tokens, APIs and agents, the world is shifting towards continuous financial planning, and Pigment is the platform for it.
Eleonore, @romain_pigment and the whole @gopigment team are building a very special company. Congrats on the round, proud investors since the seed.
Eleonore, @romain_pigment and the whole @gopigment team are building a very special company. Congrats on the round, proud investors since the seed.
We just raised $250M to push the frontier of enterprise planning.
Our Series E values Pigment at $2.3B and is led by Scaleup Europe Fund (managed by @eqt), with participation from WIL (World Innovation Lab), existing investors including @Greenoaks, @ICONIQCapital , @IVP, and planned investment from @nvidia.
This capital puts even more fuel behind the biggest shift planning has ever seen. Imagine a planning cycle that runs on its own, with agents doing the work inside the guardrails your team sets, so you get your time back for strategy. That’s autonomous planning, and with 85% of new metrics in Pigment already created by an agent, it’s well underway.
I’m so proud that the world’s most advanced AI companies, like @AnthropicAI and @ElevenLabs, and global brands like @Unilever and @Danone, are on this journey with us. NVIDIA’s planned investment is a strong validation of where we’re going as we define what AI looks like for our industry.
With this funding, we’ll keep investing in our Graphite engine and our agents, and grow our engineering and go-to-market teams as we bring Pigment to new markets.
To our customers, our partners, and the incredible Pigment team building the future every day: thank you. Romain Niccoli and I can’t wait to see what we build next, together.
Big milestone, bigger plans: pigment.com/blog/pigment-a…

This morning I was on TITV, @theinformation's daily tech news show, to talk about our Series B and a few other things.
- We’re not a GPU cloud; we’re the execution layer where agents do the work
- We’re not trying to be an inference company either. We partner with inference mplete stack to agents
- AWS was built for deterministic software. We built for the probabilistic world agents actually live in
- Security is a baseline. Every sandbox gets it. You configure the size, CPU, RAM, GPU, OS, etc.
- the machine scales up and down mid-run. Your agent gets more power when it needs it and less when it doesn’t automatically
- the Hugging Face breach drove a wave of inbound from people who suddenly understood why sandboxes exist
- Meta ran the post-training execution for their Llama model on @daytonaio sandboxes
This round was driven by one thesis: AI agents need compute to work, and that compute demand is only going one direction.
Great chat @akashpasricha

Beyond honored that @ivanburazin & @JukicVedran allowed us to double down and lead @daytonaio's Series B from the inside
It's difficult to put into words how well this team has executed to achieve the ridiculous growth we've seen over the past year, & even more difficult to encapsulate the standard of customer care (& love) they've maintained at that scale
Agents will increasingly need their own sets of primitives & services, beyond just compute, in the coming decade. The Daytona Agent Cloud will be the place they come to find them 🚀🚀🚀

We just raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation to build @daytonaio into the Agent Cloud.
@FirstMarkCap led the round, with all key existing investors and angels doubling down.
We're also thrilled to welcome the founders of some generational companies aboard, including bi (Shopify), @AravSrinivas (Perplexity), @BrendanFoody (Mercor), @oliveur (Datadog), @adamdangelo (Quora) and @ericsyuan (Zoom)
We're a 35-person team. But that's about to change; we're hiring across the board, and we'd love for you to join us.
