The downside of doing something different is that it is not normal.
Before an idea is proven, people will call it crazy, stupid, or unnecessary.
They will tell you to be more realistic. They will ask why you do not just do things the normal way.
But the normal way is already obvious. It is already comfortable.

It takes a revolutionary idea and a team insane enough to keep going while everyone else is still asking why.
