Every human AI researcher will tell you: never quantize the LM head to 4 bits.

@Recursive_SI's Eureka Machine tried it anyway. It worked, and it's part of how Flint got so fast on a Mac 🤯

Step 1 : Get the get 3 Meta Raybans
Step 2: whisper.

The nosebridge mics are crazy crazy good at picking up everything you're whispering.
how do you guys talk to your computer if you’re in an open office environment?

it feels weird & socially awkward to do so for me, is there special equipment ppl have for this? i cannot voice dictate anything in the office esp since it sounds cringe.

when i’m home alone, it’s amazing & i just go absolutely ham & say anything / everything that comes to my mind.

Grok @bot is getting a LOT of new features, which is great! Phone calls, pages etc.

But also, it's now in X Dms without the ability to turn this feature off, it's now "auto" connected to my X money bank, without me asking for it OR able to turn this off.

I get GTM but slow the F down, who said I want all these things mixed!? I'm really down with Grok Bot but it should ASK me if I want it all up in my X business, not just appear there and say "TA DA, I can see your money movements now!". This is exactly how your guys lose trust in personal assistants.
Hey @bot, this is not cool. Grok Bot just connected to my @XMoney account without me asking, and the revoke access button on the pop-up didn't even work. I had to dig through settings to remove it myself.

Possible reasons for transformation:
- Love of his life went to jail for 11 years
- He became the sole parent of 2 small kids
- Moved from CA to Texas
- Is running a startup
- has allergies

The internet is such a judgy place smh
Is there a think piece somewhere about how Billy Evans was kinda hot up until the point when Elizabeth Holmes went to prison and then the second part of the movie he became disgustingly vile looking???

Sigh ok, I'm not a film critic, and I reserve the right to change my mind about any of my current thoughts on next viewing or even after reading more!

YCSE thoughts (with spoilers):

As a documentary, this is likely the best one I've seen.

One would assume that with unprecedented - "Big brother" level of filming access, including inviting Nathan to move in with the family a month before Liz goes to jail, one would... understand more.

But the film results in "what the fuck is going on" even for the crew filming it, they are THERE and they themselves don't have an ability to agree what they are experiencing. This extends to the audience, and to online commentary.

The main docu question of "Is Elizabeth Holmes just a Naive, super neuro-divergent, who is extremely literal and doesn't understand nuances, gives control to powerful men in her life" or "Is she a once in a generation 7-layer chess master manipulator that produces tears on demand and plants seeds of doubt to only collect on them weeks/months/years later sociopath" is left un-answered in the end.

Then there's the whole, Fielder himself is a genius manipulator, literally best known for manipulating people (really, folks who haven't seen his work, omg you're in such a treat). Fielder is the perfect guy for this, and that he himself is unsure (see Wired interview, see his commentary) about what the fuck to think, gives even more "WTF did we all just witness" vibes to the whole thing. How are we suppose to have an opinion one way or the other, if he himself is unable to form one?!

Fielder admits he has no idea WHY they invited him to stay in the house (in the final month before she goes to jail for 11 years). What they had to gain from this. Why they didn't kick him out (despite billy trying to control the narrative around Dad and the Nerdy guy who talks about lazers), he told them "I can go" and they never once kicked him out.

The most genuine surprise with Amanda Seyfried joining, not just a Cameo, but as a whole third act, was just a top notch docu move. She's the "Elizabeth we know", from The Dropout documentary. She's also the only other woman in this documentary.

Amanda had a huge part in telling the story of Liz that lead to this trial and this prison and having her in the docu was a stroke of Genius. Getting her to step into the role once more, re-enacting things we didn't get on camera, and can't judge for ourselves to be true is just chefss kiss. This is for fielder-fans worth gold!

The cracked lips, dropping "the voice" that Elizabeth used to do (and Amanda used to imitate), the head-bobbing. But also Amanda the human, contrasted, showing a real bewilderment, the range of emotions when she talks to her on the phone. Besides the kids, she's was the only other "real" person there.

Also the contrast between Nathan's interactions with Liz and with Amanda is notable. With Liz he really opens up, allowing her to tell him that "she flirts by intense eye contact" and then showing us the texts between them, the invitation to go into the sea, and the intense eye contact scene that made it into the trailer. Getting a 11 second hug in prison with a vibration.

With Amanda he's not only is guarded, he's paternal, micromanaging ("here, change that line in your script too") and a complete opposite.

There's clearly a possibility of something "more" going on between these Liz and Nathan as well, something intimate, which could hint towards how Liz operates (After all, Sunny, Kissinger and a bunch of other military Board Members were all men as well as Billy and now Nathan who tells her story).

Of which Amanda finally accuses Nathan in the end, and given that Nathan is also the co-director, we get to see a glimpse of, in the "who's conning whom" finale, which leaves... only tons more questions on the table.

Now, my bet as to what the fuck is actually happening.

I think Elizabeth Holmes willingly or unwillingly operates a reality distortion field. I think her reality distortion field works the best in person and on men! There's a reason why she wants Nathan to visit her in prison and not... just do calls or emails. There's a reason everyone on her board was super powerful military men, with 0 understanding of blood or chemistry. There was a reason she imitated Jobs (the OG RDS guy).

And what we've witnessed is a recording of such a reality distortion in perfect 150mm lens zoom, that despite working on this for 3 years, despite having 18h a day recordings, and the ability to step out of that field, the ability to review the transcripts, hit pause, the audience is still 100% split on what story they saw being told.

All said, I can't wait to watch this again, digest this more. Stroke of Genius
@altryne what did you think of it?

Please watch this - Nathan and David couldn't agree about Elizabeth Holmes lying or being genuine- so they turned this confusion into the central thesis of YCSE

neither could the cast.

I think Elizabeth has an ultra focused RDF that only works 1:1 via eye contact. And in the movie we're all seeing the effects of this causing a dissonance between those affected and those who aren't. x.com/ClipperRen/sta…

Anthropic (@AnthropicAI) put 5% of its shares into a Public Benefit Fund, and says about 20% of the company is now earmarked for the public good.

Real accountability or pre-IPO PR? And @ldjconfirmed had to correct me on the PBC part 😅 with @nisten

Asked @Prince_Canuma if Flint is actually a good daily coding driver.

"Yes. So actually, I rank it around one of the top 3."

He's been running @Recursive_SI's local model as his main driver for a couple of weeks, with day zero MLX support 🔥

You can just do things.

This is so cool!
we’re very pleased to announce that Primitive Research has identified 49 exoplanet candidates and counting (yes, seriously)

we searched TESS light curves from more than 19 million stars to get here

so as not to overwhelm the incredible TESS TOI Vetting Team, we’ve submitted one candidate and are holding the rest at their request

the submission was via email, of course ;)

we’ve been automating much of the painstaking work astronomers do: searching TESS data, cross-checking other sources, and vetting signals through to detailed candidate dossiers. the 49 passed our initial screening against published vetting thresholds and are ready to be considered for telescope follow-up, which we’re actively pursuing

we strongly believe this approach is novel, and we’re authoring a paper with astrophysicists on the methodology

we plan to release the data and analyses in the coming weeks

these candidates are phase 1. next, we want to find a nearby transiting habitable-zone planet candidate whose atmosphere could be studied. much more on that later

we had some amazing partners on this that we will shout out soon

if you’re interested in working with us, our DMs are open

This week was a whole damn year 😫

I'm really glad I'm behind @Cloudflare on all my websites!
Evolving threat 🚨 CVE-2026-111497, previously known to affect Node.js (node2shell) and Python has evolved into “HTTP2Shell.”

A significant blast radius.

This vulnerability leaves many libraries and applications using HTTP vulnerable to pre-auth RCE via Brotli decompression. s not yet available for all affected services. Look for Brotli (1.2.1) dependency upgrades when they become available.

Things I like about Claude Duet (thanks @edwinarbus and @addyosmani for the hookup 🙏)

1 - It has it's own mobile app! (Testflight so far, which explains the waitlist). It's clean, it has its own settings.
IMO this was the biggest miss of Dots release.
2 - It also has it's ttps://t.co/Nx6uUXz7a9 goes straight to Duet!
3 - The tasks view is really well thought out. Duet is great at proactively suggesting tasks and follow ups!
4 - Interactive cards like drafts are not mutually exclusive, you can accept/reject cards and it won't tank the rest of the conversation!
5 - Quiet Hours - there's a setting that I can set that Duet wont bug me at night!
6 - Location sharing by default. A good personal assitant needs to know where I am at all times!
7 - "Write in my style" is great! Adjusting to my writing style for emails is turned on by default also but I can turn off
8 - OPUS 5.5!! 😍
9 - It mostly picked up on the memories Claude had about me!

Channels seems to be really well executed as well, main chat for everything and channels for specific things seems like the right combo!

Things I don't like:
- Can't personalize or rename! I don't love this, I wanna give it a name!
- Can't import memories from other assistants!?
- Can't "see" memories it has about me
- Couldn't find a way to see all the scheduled tasks, or usage

Playing with it more, but so far pretty decent start!
