For far too long solar and storage systems are only accessible if you have >£8k to spare and a roof you own.
So we built Jules.
It’s a 2.5 kWh battery that plugs into a normal 3-pin socket. No electrician, no scaffolding, no hardwiring.
Add up to four 500W panels on a balcony, wall or in the garden. No space for panels? It also works battery-only. It runs itself: charges when electricity is cheap, discharges when it’s expensive, forecasts your solar production and your usage from your smart meter. Up to £330 a year off your bill. £799 outright. £199 if you fix with Fuse for 5 years. Panels £189 each. 10-year warranty. Reservations are open today, launch estimated 2027. Fuse customers get priority.

@alanchanguk Is there something like this for the US?

@alanchanguk I like the "click a question and load up an AI help chat" design, but why is the first click running a whole-ass LLM query instead of having an instant answer? Fine to put it in an AI window for onward chat but multi-second response times on a pre-loaded question is poor UX

@alanchanguk Except it looks like plug in batteries won’t be legalised until at least mid 2028 as the safety study doesn’t under until March 2028 currently: inews.co.uk/news/400-lidl-….

@alanchanguk Most London houses are flats/apartments. Will we be able to use this in a flat?

@alanchanguk Looks clean, I've 'reserved', quite glad I switched to Fuse! Could the battery be hooked up roof solar panels in future rather than just the smaller ones?

@alanchanguk May I please ask is this fully compliant with current uk legislation? My understanding was that they/gov only approved panels for flats not storage? Thank u!

@alanchanguk Jules is awesome. Right now less than 1% of homes in the world have a battery. Give it five years and not having one will feel like not having wifi

@alanchanguk Are we limited to just one unit + 4 panels per house/consumer unit? Can I stack a bunch of them?
