والحقيقة اللي أقدر أقوله هو إن كتير من الشغل اللي بفتخر بيه في مسيرتي الصحفية سواء المكتوب أو الصوتي كان في مدى مصر، وإني هناك قابلت زميلات وزملاء صحفيين من أشطر الصحفيين المصريين، ومن بينهم محمد أشرف أبو عميرة، ربنا يفك سجنه.

انتم عارفين الاتنين من اصل مصري دول ، اللي نجح في النواب و نجح في الشيوخ ، الاتنين دول يسقطوا قدام الحاج ابو العلا مرشح مستقبل مصر في الزقازيق ؟ عارفين كدة صح ؟

أنا بأقول ده وأنا شخص بيقرا لسه الجرايد اليومية، لكن كل يوم باروح موقع مدى، اللي المحجوب بدون مسبب قانوني لمدة ٨ سنين تقريبا، علشان اعرف بيحصل ايه حوالي. شكرًا لفريق مدى لاستمرارهم في مهمة الصحافة بجد.

أنا #أدعم_مدى علشان محتاجة كل يوم أعرف بيحصل إيه حواليا وسياقه وتاريخه، وده مستحيل بدون صحافة حقيقية. مدى والمعدودين اللي زيها بيقدموا لي خدمة مباشرة أني ألاقي أخبار اقرأها ، مش بيانات copy paste. ده بعيد حتى الصحافة المتعمقة والتحقيقات والكتابة عن الثقافة وغيرها.

مدى فريق من الصحفيين، مش النشطاء، وده أثره باين في شغلهم. ساعات بتكون أكبر فعل سياسي تقدر تعمله أنك تعمل المهنة بكل جدية. وتتحدى حدودها وتجرب فيها بس وانت عارف أدواتها أصلًا ومتمكن منها.

على مدار ١٣ سنة ناس كتير أتغيرت في الفريق، وراحت وجت. بس أظن خلفية مدى اللي جاية من فريق كان بيطلع جورنال ورقي فضل لها أثر .
كتير بيشوفوا ان مدى متميزة بشجاعتها كمنصة صحفية، وأنا بأقدر جدا الشجاعة دي، بس بالنسبة لي، أكبر ما يميز مدى أنهم عارفين مهنة الصحافة كويس وأخلاقيتها.

في ٢٠٠٩ بدأ جورنال مصري بالإنجليزي بتصدره شركة المصري اليوم بفريق صغير نسبيا لفت النظر بشغله. في ٢٠١٣ الشركة قررت قفل Egypt independent الورقي ومن الفريق الصغير اللي كانت مديرة تحريره لينا عطا الله، بدأت مجموعة صحفية جديدة؛ مدى مصر.

The New Cairo Misdemeanor Appeals Court has scheduled a hearing date to review the appeal lodged by Mada Masr against the conviction of its editor-in-chief, Lina Attalah, according to Mada Masr’s defense attorney, Hassan al-Azhari.

The October 27 sentence came with a fine of LE3 the website’s closure as well as for the seizure of Mada Masr’s assets.

Azhari said that the defense team had presented the appeals request to the New Cairo courthouse prosecution offices on Sunday. The prosecution responded at the end of the day to inform lawyers that they could complete procedures to formally register the appeal, finally confirming to them on Monday that the appeal had been lodged with a hearing scheduled for November 25.

Azhari noted the law states that the existence of an appeal against a first-degree ruling in a misdemeanor case suspends the execution of that ruling until the appeal’s review.

حددت محكمة القاهرة الجديدة للجنح المستأنفة، جلسة 25 نوفمبر الجاري لنظر استئناف موقع «مدى مصر» على الحكم الصادر ضد رئيسة تحريره، لينا عطا الله، في 27 أكتوبر الماضي، بالغرامة والغلق والمصادرة، بحسب محامي المؤسسة، حسن الأزهري.

وأوضح الأزهري أن فريق الدفاع تقدم، أمس، بطلب الاستئناف دة، التي ردت في نهاية اليوم بإعلام المحامين بإمكانية إتمام الإجراءات، قبل أن تُصرح لهم، اليوم، باتخاذ إجراءات الاستئناف، مع تحديد جلسة نظره.

ولفت الأزهري إلى أن استئناف الأحكام الأولية في قضايا الجنح يوقف تنفيذها حتى النظر في الاستئناف، بموجب القانون.

Second: On Thursday, October 29, the defense counsel submitted a complaint against the presiding judge of the New Cairo Misdemeanor Court, sent by a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, to the assistant to the justice minister for judicial inspection. The complaint called for an investigation into the incidents that took place during the session. These were detailed in the letter, including, “refusing to allow the defense to review the case file, deliberately holding part of the hearing in private — without legal justification — after clearing the courtroom, appointing a lawyer to defend the defendant amid her and her defense counsel’s objections and her insistence on being represented by the defense counsel she appointed and who were present with her, refusing to record their objections in the session minutes, refusing to record their request for the judge’s recusal, and the judge reading out events contrary to the truth and having them recorded in the court transcript, namely a request attributed to the court-appointed lawyer who had neither read it out, nor argued it, nor uttered a single word.” To date, no statements have been taken from any member of the defense counsel — including the Journalists Syndicate’s legal representative who attended the hearing — and they have not been informed of the fate of the complaint.

First: Immediately after the conclusion of the trial of Lina Attalah, Mada Masr editor-in-chief and member of the Journalists Syndicate, on Tuesday, October 27, in Case 11743/2026, held at the ninth circuit of the New Cairo Misdemeanor Court, the defense team filed a complaint w Cairo Misdemeanor Court, requesting an investigation into the legal violations that took place during the session. These included depriving the defense counsel access to a copy of the case file; appointing a lawyer to represent the defendant and refusing to register in the court transcript either her objection or the objections of the defense counsel acting on her behalf; the presiding judge recording requests on behalf of the court-appointed lawyer during the hearing without the lawyer having reviewed the case file; and the judge refusing to record the defense counsel’s application for that judge’s recusal.

In the face of the court’s decision to close Mada Masr, our thoughts and efforts have been and will be centered on finding a legal way to continue our work while also taking care of each other in this moment of madness.

What has carried us through the difficulty of this moment, and the many that have preceded it, has been the massive offering of solidarity. We have been silent over the past two days, in shock at what happened in court on Tuesday but also in an attempt to organize ourselves for what looks like it will be an ongoing battle.

التزمنا الصمت على مدار اليومين الماضيين، تحت وطأة الصدمة مما جرى في المحكمة الثلاثاء الماضي، لكننا أيضًا نحاول تنظيم أنفسنا استعدادًا لما تبدو أنها ستكون معركة ممتدة.

ثانيًا- في الخميس الموافق 29 أكتوبر، تقدم فريق الدفاع بشكوى بموجب خطاب مسجل بعلم الوصول إلى السيد مساعد وزير العدل للتفتيش القضائي ضد القاضي رئيس محكمة جنح القاهرة الجديدة، طلبت التحقيق في الوقائع التي شهدتها الجلسة وسردتها بالتفصيل، والتي تضمنت: «رفض تمكين الدفاع من الاطلاع على أوراق الدعوى، وتعمد عقد جزء من الجلسة في غير علانية -دون مسوغ قانوني- بعد إخلاء القاعة، وندب محام للدفاع عن المتهمة في ظل رفضها ورفض دفاعها ذلك، وتمسكها بدفاعها الموكل الحاضر معها، ورفض إثبات اعتراضاتهم في محضر الجلسة، ورفض إثبات طلب رد القاضي بمحضر الجلسة، وكذلك تلاوة القاضي لوقائع -على خلاف الحقيقة- وإثباتها بمحضر الجلسة تتمثل في، طلب على لسان المحامي المنتدب، دون أي يتلوه أو يدفع به أو ينبس بكلمة واحدة». وحتى هذه اللحظة، لم يتم سماع أقوال أي من أعضاء فريق الدفاع -ومن بينهم الممثل القانوني لنقابة الصحفيين والذي حضر الجلسة- أو إخطارهم بمصير الشكوى.
