The value of software is going to zero, the value of working systems is going to infinity.

The bad guys are running factories and swarms. The good guys are filling out applications.
@OpenAI @AnthropicAI: why make us defenders jump through hoops for Daybreak and Mythos while the attackers use distilled abliterations?
Please lift the restrictions for the good guys. Let us catch up, maybe even fight back.

in light of the AI cyberattack mayhem going on right now, it's a good time to reshare Karapthy's Digital Hygiene guide
probably the most important thing you can read this week:
> use a password manager for every account
> set up physical security keys so attackers can't log in
> enabint everywhere
> randomize your security question answers
> encrypt your hard drive
> get rid of unnecessary smart home devices
> switch to signal for private messaging
> use brave instead of chrome
> switch to brave search instead of google
> mint virtual credit cards for every purchase
> get a virtual mailing address
> never click links inside emails
> use a vpn on public wifi
> block ads and trackers at the dns level
> install a network monitor to see which apps are spying on you

@joelcomm 80% best tool I’ve ever been handed, 20% a threat to everything I know. The threat isn’t all bad. I can forget things I never wanted to learn and learn things I never thought I could.

Show me an app you built with AI that looks like it cost $50,000 to develop.
Drop the URL.
I want to see what one person can build in 2026.

@sporadicaing that you’ve ever said in a text message, your cell tower pings, phone call logs, the Flock and Axon hits on your license plate, the silly face you made at your friend’s ring doorbell last week, and whatever the NSA has squirreled away on you
it’s all in play now, welcome to the singularity

@ragelink @GergelyOrosz I've heard @benthompson talk about using Tailscale to return to the castle and moat days. I get the appeal of vibing your own stuff and running it on private network... but I'm too paranoid not to lock it down.

@GergelyOrosz Do you think there'll be a market for cheap, insecure software? There are a lot of: "software is solved, everything is fast and cheap and better" but security is clearly expensive and tedious so how do we reconcile both sides?

@sporadica It was always perma-fucked, the day has finally arrived. Probably going to be a lot more of these days before there are less of them. There’s an incomprehensible amount of legacy software in existence and connected to the internet.
