When CZ said that HYPE pumping bottoms the crypto market, I thought he was just shitposting.

Looking at what happened today after the ICE and Druckenmiller announcement and how BTC started following HYPE up...maybe he's onto something.

Hyperliquid
2026 has been wild. First we got Trump mentioning Hyperliquid by name and now we have CZ openly glazing Hyperliquid and crediting HYPE for leading all coins out of the bear market.

“HYPE coin jumps and then every other coin follows. BNB went up…even Bitcoin went up!”

With ICE and Druck embracing TradeXYZ & Hyperliquid, anybody worth something in TradFi will be doing DD on trading perps once it becomes available in the US.

Hyperliquid will finally cross the chasm and enter the “early majority” part of its life cycle and become mainstream.
2026 is the year Hyperliquid crosses the chasm in the adoption life cycle:

→ RWA perps have hit mainstream news repeatedly (Pre-IPO perps next catalyst)
→ World Cup HIP-4 market is the first move to onboard next wave of users
→ ETF inflows show strong TradFi demand for HYPE

Druckenmiller has an X account??
I am excited to be an investor in trade(xyz) as they partner with ICE to bring 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid to the United States. As a market participant, I am looking forward to to using their innovative product to enhance my investment process.

ICE is officially partnering *and* investing in TradeXYZ to bring perps to the US markets. There is also a smaller group of investors joining with the only named investor being Druckenmiller.

Given this news, it seems likely that ICE is the 3.75M HYPE OTC buyer.

Hyperliquid
trade[XYZ] and ICE, owner of the New York Stock Exchange, are joining forces to bring 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid to the United States.

In just over a year, our markets on Hyperliquid have surpassed $650 billion in volume. They provide continuous price discovery for stocks, indices, and commodities, and have become trusted reference points for retail and institutions alike when traditional markets are closed. Much of the world trades them. Until now, Americans could only watch.

We intend to change that. Subject to CFTC approval, trade[XYZ] and ICE plan to establish a new, dedicated U.S. market, with novel exchange and clearing infrastructure built on Hyperliquid. Planned contracts span equities, indices, commodities, FX, and crypto, with access through participating brokers and platforms. We’ll share more on products, eligibility, and timing as approvals progress.

ICE brings more than 25 years of experience operating regulated markets, clearing, and managing risk. trade[XYZ] brings the product development, market design, and technology behind the most liquid and robust markets on Hyperliquid.

Innovation and the protections of U.S. regulation shouldn’t be a trade-off. Together, we plan to prove it.

ICE is making a strategic investment in trade[XYZ] and joins us in building towards the future of Hyperliquid. A small group of market luminaries is joining as well, beginning with Stan Druckenmiller. For more than four decades, few investors have anticipated the great turns in markets as often as Stan. We’re proud to have him with us for the next one.

We’re building the U.S. market in parallel with our existing HIP-3 markets, which we’ll continue to expand and innovate on. We expect both to flourish. They each have a long road map ahead, from new asset classes to new ways to trade them.

To the Hyperliquid community, whether you were here before us or came because of us, thank you. You took a chance on new markets and you made them matter. You’ll forever be a part of this story.

Anything. Anytime. On ICE[XYZ].

It’s interesting that Hyperliquid is “re-announcing” Payward’s intention to be a US compliant HIP-3* deployer 5 weeks after the original announcement.

My guess is that the HIP-3* spec has been tested to Jeff’s satisfaction such that the CTFC approval is the last hurdle standing.
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3* markets. Payward will use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US clients. Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward’s CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would act as the HIP-3* deployer: creating, owning, and administering the markets and clearing and settling the contracts. If approved, NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward’s CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts.

HIP-3 will support optional deployer configuration for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. This set of additional deployer functionality is collectively called HIP-3*. At its core, HIP-3* activation involves an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. The functionality is strictly additive to HIP-3; its use is optional and up to the deployer. Existing markets remain unchanged. The initial release is available on testnet, where specifications are preliminary and subject to change based on feedback.

Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. HIP-3* gives deployers additional functionality to operate deployments consistent with the requirements applicable to them. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

Since HYPE's TGE there have been many new features shipped. Which new Hyperliquid feature do you think would be given the least reward if there was an airdrop done based on retroactive activity since December 2024?

Decade long blockchain skeptic at Bloomberg finally changes his mind about it after being introduced to a real example of the kind of value it can bring to world.

That example? Hyperliquid.
MAYBE I WAS WRONG ABOUT BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

I wrote about how I always used to make fun of the guys who said things like "Bitcoin is speculative, but the underlying blockchain technology is interesting." And now I think maybe they kinda had a point.

Intriguing details in HPC's letter w.r.t. airdrops:

1) Pushes for the ability to announce incentives then airdrop later
2) Airdrops can be recurring and programmatic

HPC is trying to open a path for small recurring airdrops instead of doing a big retroactive one like before.

PumpFun saw how hard it is for others to spin up and find success with their own perps platform and decided to just tap into the neutral liquidity layer available for anyone: Hyperliquid via builder codes!

Expect this trend to continue.

It is now confirmed that HSI is NOT the OTC buyer of Hyperliquid Labs’ recent 3.75M HYPE unlock. The onchain evidence said this but it’s always nice to get confirmation from the horse’s mouth.

We will likely not know who the buyer is unless they decide to announce themselves.
I've said this publicly a few times so I'll say it again here: this was not us

I don't know who it is but I'm 100% certain its not @HypeStrat

1.25M HYPE was staked with the HSI x Unit validator, remaining is unstaked.

I've been told Payward stakes with Bitwise so the buyer is likely NOT Payward. However, the receiving wallets were funded via Kraken while HSI historically uses Anchorage, so the buyer is still TBD.
The team’s OTC sale is likely to resolve today. While the identity of the buyer is a mystery, I expect a reveal via the creation of their own validator (3.75M is just enough to join the active set).

The institution with the most incentive to do this is Payward (Kraken), IMO.

On January 2024, Jeff made the decision to decline a check for $100M from VCs. His team was in disbelief. Iliensinc’s response was, “what the fuck?”.

Fast forward to 2026, the team is about to OTC sell a sliver of their ownership of Hyperliquid for $300M+.
If you wanted to know what kind of man Jeff is, get this: on January 2024, he declined a $100M funding round at $1B val, choosing to continue to fund Hyperliquid with his personal money in order to keep the protocol pure.

I've always believed Hyperliquid had an advantage over its incumbent TradFi counterparts due to onchain markets inherently trading 24/7 but never did I think TradFi companies would simply refuse to work as hard.

CME is simply giving up weekend price discovery to Hyperliquid.
LOL. CME announced at 5pm Friday that it’s dropping plans for 24/7 oil trading over concerns about… staffing. Thought nobody would notice.

Today is the day where the reserve yield for ALL USDC on Hyperliquid will be given to the AF for HYPE buybacks for the month of September. Expect a recurring $10K limit bid at mid price until the funds are exhausted.

$14.58M is pending transfer:

There has been a shortage of borrowable USDC on HyperCore lately. When > 80% of all USDC is borrowed, lender APY starts shooting up exponentially from the baseline sub 3.5%, currently at 7%.

For the stablecoin yield farmers, simply depositing USDC on HL will net you this.

Hyperliquid Labs has entered an OTC deal to sell 3.75M tokens to an institution for the October team unlock. None of it is being sold on the open market.

Now we know why the team unlock did not occur as it regularly does this month.
The Hyperliquid team must be so busy with planning the events going on next week that they are late with unstaking the team allocation for October.

@Hypurr, you up?
