In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Entropy(2021) is a generative audiovisual artwork that artificially degrades each time the NFT token is transferred in a manner similar to analog media. Its implementation in C code is stored on Ethereum as a "permanent" inscription of an impermanent system.

Entropy will be ow at NEORT++ @neort_io "An Exhibition of Auto-Destructive Art" opening Oct 2nd.

With Navier Stokes in the news, sharing a 2010 SIGGRAPH paper I wrote about a clever solution that was artistically useful. These are "eigenflows". Each are stable solutions to Navier Stokes on a particular domain. If you set up one of these velocity fields, they will persist (or h viscosity), but won't veer off into turbulence, unless perturbed. It's an elegant formulation that has a bunch of interesting properties compared to grid based methods.
I used it to make some cool real time animations.

Degenerative 2022. An NFT collection of generative art slot machines implemented as smart contract. Owners submit roll() transactions, competing to be first to win jackpots, granting mint passes for a diminishing supply of additional slot machine NFTs with increasingly rare attributes.

Grateful for any coverage @TheArtNewspaper and open to criticism. I'm hack and I know it, price you pay for being a generalist. but this is incorrect. I never dismissed prompting or the use of AI in art making, and well aware of those histories (PAYPHONE was in fact on display). ion is that I hate welding. The oscilloscope sculptures are hand forged and have zero welds.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.

The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.

Access to all other Claude models is not affected.

We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.
