1 kg of Ovaltine powder costs approximately $3.00 to manufacture. The tin that contains it, costs $2.50 per unit in lots of 10,000. The tin costs as much as the powder! Could Ovaltine be sold in a biodegradable bag? It has no expiration date, and the bag lus the tin has cut me in the past during use, a bag would not do that. Overall, the bag would cost 1.5 cents each, the tin $2.50; the bag is biodegradable, the tin requires disposal and recycling services of no benefit to Ovaltine; and the tin is generally unsafe while the bags pose no harm to people over the age of 3. Could we not improve Ovaltine, and sell it at a reasonable price?
