Working the East-West planes in my latest bullpen session! 🟢🟡

Focused on precision sequencing with my screwball and curveball, hitting my green (strike) and yellow (waste/chase) color zones on the plate. Finished the mix by dialing in the drop ball—feeling incredibly sharp h RHH and LHH.

Always tracking data and getting better.

Safe to say the mechanical adjustments are paying off.

By cleaning up my KINETIC CHAIN and driving harder off the rubber, I was able to push past my standard 57- 58 MPH average and touch a new peak velocity of 63 MPH.

I know a single max-effort pitch isn’t my “everyday” speed body is capable of when the kinetic chain syncs perfectly is massive motivation. Back to work tomorrow to make this the standard!

Silence creates stories. Communication creates clarity.

As coaches we should be teaching athletes to communicate when things get hard.

To ask questions.
To speak up.
To be honest.
To have uncomfortable conversations.

Coaches and leaders should model the same thing.

You don’t have to have the perfect answer.

You definitely don’t have to be everyone’s cup of tea.

But people deserve clarity.

On both sides.

That’s leadership.

The softball world has convinced too many pitchers that the answer is always:

“Get another lesson.”

But sometimes the missing piece isn’t another weekly lesson that stops serving them the moment they leave.

The missing piece is learning how to trust, compete, problem-solve, and become the athlete they’re capable of becoming.

That doesn’t happen in a single lesson.

It happens through development.

Because pitchers don’t need to spend their careers chasing someone to fix them.

They need a plan that helps them grow into complete athletes — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Tired of low level coaches coaching in high level organizations…stay in your lane or rise to the occasion to become a high level coach.

Let’s talk about “adversity.”There’s a difference between teaching adversity… and being the adversity.

Real coaches:
They study.
They evolve.
They learn their athletes.
They build them up and challenge them.
They communicate why—not just what.

Bad coaches?
They hide behind “old school.”
They tear athletes down and call it “toughness.”
They manipulate by saying, “you’re a high-level player—you should expect this”… without ever teaching or explaining.
They take credit for athletes they didn’t actually develop.
And they hide comfortably inside the “good old boys club.”
You don’t get to demand growth from your players
while refusing to grow yourself.
That’s not coaching. That’s ego.
And athletes deserve better.
