Ime Udoka and Marcus Smart reached the greatest heights of their respective careers together in Boston. It was "the perfect fit." Then, it suddenly ended much sooner than either expected.
Now, they're back together in Houston and more motivated than ever to finish what they started.

Final: Wolves 117, Rockets 107
Durant 21 pts, 5 rebs
VanVleet 18 pts
Sengun 17 pts, 11 rebs, 10 assts
Rockets give up 35 points in the 4th quarter as Minnesota pulls away for a big win in Houston. Rockets fall to 7-2. Houston also gave up 33 points on 21 turnovers. They were sloppy on O the whole night. Just couldn't find a rhythm. Rudy Gobert deserves a lot of credit for the work he did slowing down Alperen Sengun. Alpi had a triple-double but he shot 5-15 from the field.

Three massive shots by Jonathan Kuminga down the stretch will be the biggest difference in this one. Minnesota about to pull off a big win in Houston.

That's 3 consecutive fouls called on LaMelo Ball on one trip down the court for Houston. Rockets are now in the bonus for the final 7:10 of the 4th quarter.

His numbers don't always jump off the page, but I really think Tari Eason has been great for this team coming off the bench.
He's not allowing his success to be determined by if he makes corner 3s or not. He's active on the boards, creating turnovers, defending at a high level. And they're giving him more freedom to do stuff off the dribble. He's played his role extremely well.

End of 1st half: Rockets 57, Wolves 57
Sheppard 14 pts, 3 stls
Durant 10 pts (3-6 FG)
VanVleet 10 pts, 3 assts
Sengun 8 pts, 5 rebs, 4 assts
Rockets managed to go into halftime ties despite 14 first-half TOs. Reed Sheppard gave them a huge spark off the bench, but Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun were relatively quiet after a hot start from KD. Keys in the 2nd half will be slowing down Minny's open 3-point looks and taking care of the ball.

Rockets are already up to 13 turnovers in the first half. Some really sloppy passing by them around the basket so far. Sengun and KD have to be a little more patient.

Jonathan Kuminga hit Alperen Sengun with a big elbow while both of them were fighting for a rebound. Each replay has gotten a loud reaction from the crowd.
Refs rule it a Flagrant one foul. I definitely thought Kuminga could get ejected on that one.

Reed Sheppard already has 9 points and 3 steals in his first 5 minutes off the bench. He's creating a lot of early offense opportunites for Houston.

Durant picked up his 3rd foul in the final seconds of the 1st on a moving screen. Ime Udoka wasn't happy with the call and he got hit with a tech.
KD's fouls will be something to monitor now after he got off to a really good start.

Kevin Durant already has 10 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists with 2:47 left in the first quarter. Shooting 3-5 from the field, 2-3 on 3s. One of his best starts of the season.
(No, I don't have a solo cam on him.)

He sacrificed his body multiple times to get this team’s energy up. Veteran leadership for real
Maybe the most Marcus Smart game ever tonight:
8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals
2/10 FG, 2/8 3PT
Threw up the double birds twice
Drew an offensive foul that was overturned
Was on the floor at least 5x in the 4th
Rockets were +5 with him in the game

Final: Rockets 109, Celtics 93
Sengun 26 pts, 7 rebs, 10 assts
Smith 14 pts, 10 rebs

Rockets improve to 7-1 after another impressive performance on both ends of the court. Dominant performance from Alperen Sengun, who punished Boston over and over again tonight when they guarded him with one guy. Rockets were 9-18 on 3s in the 2nd half. Also held Jayson Tatum to 5-16 shooting from the field.
