Who doesn’t love a good chart?!

This one should be front and centre in any discussion about what we build for a clean, safe and sustainable energy system.

Sign our petition: For the krill, for the Antarctic ecosystems that depend on them, for our planet.

Industrial trawlers have hoovered up hundreds of thousands of tonnes of krill from Antarctic waters this year, much of it taken from the same feeding grounds where whales, er to find nourishment.

Next year the ships will return. And the year after that, and the year after that.

Unless we stop them.

In October, the countries that make up the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) will meet to discuss how the Southern Ocean should be managed – and the EU will send a delegation.

But the strongest solution is clear: CCAMLR should end industrial krill fishing altogether.

CCAMLR decisions require consensus, and a handful of countries have repeatedly blocked stronger protections. But if the EU, UK and other members stand firm, real progress is possible.

Now is the time to make our voices heard: Sign our petition and tell the EU to take the strongest possible position and push to end krill fishing in the Antarctic Ocean. ➡️ act.weplanet.org/p/eu-ccamlr-st…

Did you know nuclear power plants can run continuously for years?

Darlington Unit 1 holds the world record: 1,106 days of continuous clean electricity before shutting down for scheduled maintenance.

As we electrify more of our economy, reliable 24/7 clean energy will only become more important.

Sign our petition calling on @AlboMP to lift the ban on nuclear energy.

This is fine, right?

Just in case, we should probably accelerate our efforts to reduce emissions while laying the scientific and governance groundwork for the possible future use of climate interventions such as solar radiation management (SRM).
I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

If you oppose nuclear energy, then you support fossil fuels.

The simple reality is that whenever nuclear energy is excluded from the energy mix, some of the resulting shortfall is inevitably met by fossil fuels.

🧵
"Nuclear is a great excuse to avoid conversations about decarbonising the Australian economy". In this latest episode of "What's the Point?" co-CEO Richard Denniss examines how talk about nuclear power in Australia is just a trick and a distraction from the real issues.

The best way to end the burning of fossil fuels for electricity is to keep building wind and solar while adding nuclear energy to the mix. Together, these technologies can provide abundant, reliable, clean electricity around the clock without relying on fossil fuels.

Half of the world's habitable land is used for agriculture, and most of that is devoted to raising animals for slaughter, or their feed.

Here's how we produce more food while leaving more space for nature and humanity.

Arguments for taxing gas often go something like this: "Tax gas to help pay for public services and infrastructure."

The problem is that this narrative can create a political disincentive to phase out some of our most harmful industries, from gambling to fossil fuels.

We're taking an exciting new step as a movement and we want to share our plans and hear from you about how we build Australia's evidence-based environmental movement.

Hope to see you there!

Data centres are essential infrastructure for modern society, but they come with environmental trade-offs.

A blanket "no" isn't a serious strategy. The better approach is smart regulation that requires new clean energy, greater efficiency and responsible development.

Innovations in food, such as precision fermentation, mean we can now produce the same proteins found in milk, eggs, & other foods without slaughtering animals.

Lower emissions & risk of zoonotic disease. Free up land for nature. Cut water use & improve animal welfare.

Nuclear energy is one of the safest and cleanest forms of energy generation available to humanity.

Time to overturn Australia's outdated ban on nuclear energy.
