Regardless, it’s not good foreign policy to fight it out in the press wh in the ROKG seems to be doing with multiple actors. Better behind closed doors.
I wouldn’t necessarily interpret Seoul’s unusually harsh criticism of Ukraine and its subsequent decision to withdraw some embassy staff from Kyiv as evidence of a pivot toward Moscow.
From what I’ve observed on the ground covering the presidential office, Seoul’s unusually forceful response appears to be driven primarily by frustration with Kyiv’s handling of the fallout from its unilateral disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean POWs.
What particularly appears to have angered Seoul is Kyiv’s refusal to publicly acknowledge that it had initially requested confidentiality over the transfer, let alone issue an apology, despite President Lee Jae Myung’s repeated expression of regret and warnings of further action.
That’s not to discount Seoul’s incentives to restore ties with Moscow, given their prewar economic relationship and South Korea’s ambitions to develop Arctic shipping routes.
The sensitivity of the POW issue for Kim Jong Un’s regime may also factor into Seoul’s calculations, particularly as the Lee administration seeks to play a “pacemaker” role in facilitating a potential Trump–Kim summit.
But from my vantage point, Seoul’s escalation appears to be driven more by its anger at Kyiv’s subsequent response to the controversy than by a deliberate strategic shift toward Moscow.
The broader geopolitical considerations may be at play, but they shouldn’t be mistaken for the immediate cause of Seoul’s actions.

JC @Giants are not a good enough team that they can leave points on the field like that. 2 missed FGs. Come on.

This means JJ is QB1 on Sunday.
John Harbaugh on who his #Giants starting QB will be this week: "We're working through that now, honing in on a decision." Says he will make the decision based on "all the things that help us win."

On the night of game 5, walking around the City I saw many happy people wearing their new Brunson\Kat jerseys. But the people who were crying were the ones wearing old Stat, Melo, King, Sprewell jerseys. Fans since before the 73 team, we went thru all the lean years, deflated expectations, losses. Congrats @nyknicks

JJ is starting against the Texans after that 4th quarter. More mobile. Could not be more INT-prone than Jameis. @Giants @jjmccarthyy18

Giants running backs: 8 carries for 9 yards. (No carries for Cam Skattebo). Saints have one of the league's worst run defenses. This run game is broken.

President Trump cut short military drills between the US and South Korea this week, saying that they sent the wrong signal to the "unthreatening and respectful" North Korea. Is Trump throwing over one longtime US ally to court a rogue state ... again? I discussed with @VictorDCha:

The conventional policy wisdom is that President Trump’s enthusiasm for reengagement with North Korea is not shared by Kim Jong-un. But @VictorDCha argues that a unique set of drivers, including North Korean revisionism, could spur a renewal of diplomacy.
