@CasualEffects The OP is a web dev. His answer is consistent with the state of web development: its hardly about programming and is more about gluing frameworks.
This correlates of how a website made of pastel rects renders at 16 fps vs a 3d PBR game hitting 120 fps

I have been trying to talk with people in Twitter and never blocking anybody, but lately it seems that the amount of hostile people with no communication skills have been rapidly increasing. These people don't care about tech arguments. They just fire personal insults instead.

Because here is the thing. Every. Single. Journalist. who was there (and there were many, from major outlets all over Europe and the world) that I spoke to, said "my editor refuses to print any story critical of economic growth."

Every.

Single.

One.

What Wikipedia did: we stood strong for our principles and fought to the Supreme Court of Turkey and won. This is what it means to treat freedom of expression as a principle rather than a slogan.
@mattyglesias Did your brain fall out of your head, Yglesias? The choice is have Twitter throttled in its entirety or limit access to some tweets. Which one do you want?

The entire current AI thing is a psyop including the hoax of LLMs as "intelligent" when the real purpose is to wizard of oz fascist propaganda and lies to the public. I'll believe in AI when AI can explain how it arrived at a conclusion: #ExplainableAI thelastamericanvagabond.com/whitney-webb-i…

There's no meaningful news in here, we've done that for years already and will continue to do so, like anyone in the business of maintaining graphics drivers. In the interest of curbing the vast amounts of speculation out there, game is Jedi Survivor.

❗️The #Hungarian way of battling record inflation: the government has just announced a new measure, obliging grocery shops to offer sales.

Products will be divided into 20 categories (meat, cheese, etc.). At least one product in each category will always have to be on sale.

Now that VK_EXT_shader_object is out, I've got some thoughts...

Before I dig in, a disclaimer: I am NOT speaking on behalf of Khronos or the Vulkan working group. I also no longer work for a hardware vendor. I'm just very well-connected within the 3D graphics community.

Also C++ people: "why do people keep calling it C/C++?????"

I understand that effort spent on C++ is effort wasted. “Large and complicated” is an understatement. It’s nightmarishly complex. It’s virtually impossible to write a competitive compiler. C++ is the pinnacle of designless, ownerless, committee-driven monsters.

The more I use modern C++ features the more I wonder if the people designing that stuff actually ever did some real programming. Instead of keeping things simple and straight forward everything feels like badly designed joke.
