> AI means users can simply build for themselves much of what they need.
I think this is largely headcanon. I'm fairly technical, but I use software every day that I don't want to build and maintain myself. Organizations are similar in that way.

@StephenFleming There is a very small place for this but it’s shrinking every day.

We’re gonna need a bigger patch factory
My swarms are at 81.33 (repeating of course) gigapatches per second but the CVE factory is even faster

A boy on his bike near Kramatorsk was just murdered by a russian drone. They posted this video of their crime. This is evidence this war has nothing to do with territory. It’s an attempt to wipe out an entire civilian population of an innocent county while the world watches.

VC guys and founders posting profound revelation about cybersecurity strategy
“We need a larger swarm!! We’re at 700 patches per second, but they keep attacking! We need 1200 patches per second!”

an example of why understanding the world, architecture and organisations....
In Shodan there's over 2 million exposures for X-POWERED BY PHP
but only ~20K of those are X-Powered-By: PHP/8.3.26
and well.... there's lots of different versions....
So this part alone makes a cape.
Attack surface, diversity and how things are tired together (architecture) matter when it comes to understanding how much, or how little, impact, a vulnerability might have.

Not every vuknerabiiity is the same, not every exploit is the same, and most definitely not every implementation of an a service / application is.
Knowing this isn’t rocket science but it’s kind of key to understanding how to risk manage and conduct an intelligence assessment process.

There’s so much devil in the details!
And these are complex systems along just in how a computer works at a high level let alone complex memory exploration.
The details really really matter!!
