I really hope that today is the last nail in the coffin or using a flag and nationalist ideal to get voters to support causes. Like it happened in Brazil recently a political party should own a flag or nationalism but be judged by the proposals and policies.

So one of my favorite events in the world started last night at Spier in Stellenbosch, the Africa In the World - what a great way to start with a great performance of Neo Muyanga who I am so fortunate to know well and both be a fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. It is he the soul and yesterday was special as it challenged the Xenophobia in South Africa!

Whether or not you agree with his conclusions, youll almost certainly leave thinking differently.

Founded and hosted by Dele Olojede, Africa in the World brings together leading thinkers and innovators from across Africa and the world to inspire fresh thinking and bolder action on the continents challenges and opportunities.

Joe Studwell has spent decades exploring one of the defining questions of our time: why do some countries prosper while others struggle? After examining the policies behind East Asias extraordinary economic transformation in How Asia Works, he turned his attention to Africa. A decade of research, travel and reporting followed, culminating in How Africa Works: Success and Failure on the Worlds Last Developmental Frontier. Attendance is by invitation only, and seating is limited, so registration is required. Attached is the invitation in PDF and as a picture below.

Early start #WHA2026 in Berlin today for a roundtable discussion with Africa CDC DG and industry on how to advance biomanufacturing in Africa. For us, it needs to start from the basic science and innovation space, from filing patents, creating startups and accelerating companies. p the gun and start at the top, when the solution may be to start at the grassroots level and with proper science. #SWEATAfrica #Innovation #Africa
