World 1 Monster File #1: Acid Snail 🐌
After rain, little Eugene used to look for snails on his way to school. The city grew, and they disappeared. Now they're back in his mind, stained by toxic rain.
Design notes ✏️ Our first concept carried a triangle explosion sign on its e felt too sharp. A round radiation sign read much more like a snail shell, so we went with that.
The eyes are streetlights, the ones he passed walking to school. We tried a red-eyed version too, but green matched the goo better.
Movement It contracts and stretches, dragging its body forward. Slow, and that's the trap.
Attack It throws its head back like it's about to spit, then fires a glob of radioactive goo. A manhole forms at its feet and the liquid bubbles up through the holes. The goo blows up after a few seconds, or the moment you touch it 💥

Demo v0.7.4 is out 🐾 bug fixes: Intrusion enemies no longer spawn where they can't move, breakable objects stop showing up late, and a stray round image is gone from the dungeon map. Saves carry over. World 2 is in the works.
