Today in Iowa, @SecKennedy announced a nearly $5 MILLION grant for the MIECHV Program — helping mothers learn about infant care, child development, recognizing and treating illness, and more.

2⃣ @SecKennedy announced today that for the first time in nearly 30 years, @FDA is updating nutrient requirements for infant formula.

“The science has matured and evolved since then…We’re now looking at infant formula on the basis of recent science. We’re comparing it to ir procedures.”

Today during a health visit to West Des Moines, Iowa, @SecKennedy laid out three announcements:

1️⃣ @FDA completed Operation Stork Speed, which tested infant formula from across the country for safety and contaminants.

The results are in: America’s infant formula supply is SAFE. ✅

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, there’s a program called “Close Your Eyes, We’ll Immunize.” Since 2023, children who are already going under sedation or anesthesia for another procedure are offered flu shots while they’re unconscious. Last season, over two thousand doses. And they’re exploring adding RSV and COVID shots, plus catch-up vaccines for kids who are “behind.”
I want to be clear here: parents consent. But think about when that consent is being requested. In pre-op. Signing a form you may never read. Your child is scared, about to be put under. You’re anxious, you trust the people in scrubs, and someone asks if you’d like to “take care of” the flu shot while they’re at it. That is the most vulnerable moment a parent has. That isn’t a calm, informed decision. That’s an opportunity.

Seriously? Now they want dental hygienists sticking HPV vaccines into 9-year-olds during a teeth cleaning?

West Virginia is pushing a proposal to let dentists and hygienists inject kids with the HPV shot while they’re already in the chair. Because apparently a routine dental ey need to turn it into a drive-by jab.

Parents get told it’s “more accessible.” What they don’t get is real answers, proper informed consent, or time to ask why a vaccine for a sexually transmitted virus is being pushed on preteens in a dental office.

Children deserve age-appropriate explanations. Parents deserve transparency. And expanding who can inject them should come with more than a training certificate and a sales pitch.
