Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones.

As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true.

In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. uld be registered by both military personnel and civilians.
But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work.

In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield.

We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

Note to the EU haters. You can hate it. Many do. But it is still the UK's neighbours being in a club that the UK has to deal with from a point of weakness. Geography denial has failed, obviously. So far the only serious idea I've seen is "muddle through". Is that it?
UK offering Freedom of Movement would be the game changer for conversations with the EU, one of the trio of people, pounds and positivity I identified earlier this year as crucial to any significant move to removing barriers.

Russians and their appendixes don't seem to understand that Zelensky was actually fairly liberal towards Russia (one of the reasons he won in 2019, he promised peace!) and yet Russia still invaded.

Lesson to be learned there: Don't trust a single word a Russian says.
🚨🇺🇦Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky 10 years ago:

"Do you understand that we can't be against Russians - we are the same people."

Kids, don't do cocaine and the EU at the same time.

Trying to understand why a prominent Tory party member organising contract killings isn’t being given wall to wall coverage. The BBC hasn’t even mentioned it on their site.
🚨🇬🇧 Turning Point UK's CEO was filmed offering an undercover reporter a menu of beatings, stabbings and killings through a Glasgow contact who says he arms the UVF

Al Jazeera’s undercover operation started in 2021 when a reporter joined the British offshoot of the American Jack Ross, a Conservative candidate in 2023, introduced the reporter to Allan Nesbitt, a convicted criminal and self-described UVF member, agreed on camera to pay him to stage a fake pro-Zimbabwe rally, and priced out what Nesbitt’s friends could do to a person, from cutting faces to MURDER.

The UVF is the Ulster Volunteer Force, a Protestant loyalist paramilitary from Northern Ireland’s Troubles that killed over 500 people between 1966 and 1999, including 33 in one day in the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, and is still banned as a terror group.

Since the peace deal it has run mostly as a drug gang that kept the name and the guns.

Nesbitt reportedly met the reporter in a London hotel, offered to have a fictional business rival “finished,” claimed he’d personally stabbed a man to death, showed a shotgun and pistol on a video call and said the fee would buy weapons smuggled from Scotland into Northern Ireland.

Ross says it was a joke. The joke came with a price list, a weapons demo and a smuggling route, and the police now have a name and a video... and wasn't particularly funny.

Somebody in Turning Point UK’s donor base should be asking when the fundraising dinners turned into this.

Reform UK's private police in Colchester have been given an official reprimand after they illegally handcuffed two teenage girls.

Operation Vanguard is a private security patrol employed at the cost of £150,000 to the taxpayer, to wander the streets of Braintree, Chelmsford and a little further though, unsurprisingly, Reform UK have some serious questions to answer.

The BBC reported yesterday that two of the private police patrol, run by a firm called My Local Bobby, were officially rebuked by the police for illegally detaining these girls.

Essex Police said two offences of assault without injury were recorded and “learning requirements” had been “passed to the security staff employers”.

The £150,000 contract for Operation Vanguard was awarded without tender to My Local Bobby by Peter Harris, Reform leader of the council.

The goons handcuffed two teenagers they believed to be shoplifting, but these security staff have zero powers of detention under the law.

As you can see from Essex County Council's own website FAQs below, they have no powers at all.

It feels to me that the citizens of Essex should be aware of this fact and be prepared to stand up to these glorified store detectives.

FAQs state that they cannot arrest people, they have no powers of stop and search, no power to ask questions and absolutely zero enforcement powers.

They are literally performing 'citizens arrests' and being paid £150,000 by the council for it.

If those in Essex know this then it could easily open the council up to substantial lawsuits if their vigilantes carry on 'arresting' people illegally.

Reform UK are wasting public money again and setting themselves up to be sued. Again.

The historical irony is extraordinary.

MI5 spent decades watching Harold Wilson and Aneurin Bevan for supposed Soviet influence and found no evidence that either was a Soviet agent.

Fast-forward to today and Russian influence in British politics is no longer theoretical.
ligence and Security Committee described Russian influence in Britain as the new normal, including Putin-linked elites gaining political access through wealth and donations.

And a former Reform UK Wales leader has now actually been jailed for taking bribes to push pro-Russian messages.

We spent the Cold War suspecting people who weren’t Russian agents.

🆘 Perhaps we should pay rather more attention when the evidence is actually sitting in front of us.

Quite simply: Brexit ended free movement from Europe and Boris replaced it with a far more liberal immigration system for the rest of the world. Employers switched recruitment accordingly. Non-EU immigration then exploded. Brexit didn't require the Boriswave. Brexit gave Boris the power to create it. And he did.
@eurorealist Explain how Brexit caused the Boriswave exactly?

No, @elonmusk, the U.S. stopped funding Ukraine last year. In fact, U.S. companies make money on American weapons for which we Europeans pay.
The more you meddle in our politics and the more you play politics with your products, the more you damage your brand.
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

We can tell this is bullshit as Elmo would be desperate to suck up to them if it were true.
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people.

The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.
