If you want to learn to analyze movie narratives and themes, then I can help.

I've deconstructed nearly 1,000 films, including some of the most confusing and mysterious around, like Mulholland Drive, 2001: a Space Odyssey, Primer, Donnie Darko, Under the Skin, Synecdoche, New ople read my work every day, over 10 million in the lifetime of my site.

When you analyze that many movies, two things happen. You start to recognize patterns and you refine your process. I call my process the Frameshift Method.

And for the first time, I'm sharing it. The course takes around 30-60 minutes and you can start applying what you learn right away.

And, yeah, this is legitimately how I work through each movie I watch. Sometimes it's more casual, because how much analytical thought do I need to give to Cocaine Bear? But for a film like Tar or Phantom Thread or The Wailing, yeah, I go through each of these steps.

In fact, part of the course includes me analyzing The Graduate for the first time. So you get to see in "real time" how I work through a film and apply Frameshift to arrive at a thematic conclusion about the film that I feel comfortable with and strongly about.

Anyway, link below!

My two cents on the Obsession discourse is that it’s a really good horror film with a truly excellent breakout performance from Inde Navarrette. That said, it’s not as memorably ground-breaking, shocking, or accomplished as any of the horror classics it’s being compared to.

GODZILLA MINUS ZERO is the loudest movie I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

This will be a reference title for testing theater setups. Unbelievable film, and the definition of FILMED FOR IMAX.

this is in extremely poor taste… a film being longer has absolutely nothing to do with it’s quality if the runtime is justified and for You Can See Everything it is. you shouldn’t be putting down other films to promote your own

hope they delete this… not a good look

Sorry to be annoyed by this, but people have been a fan since The Coup- knowing how much I've struggled to get this stuff out there.

Now I had a make it or break it chance- and the movie has been out for 6 months & you didn't go see it, rent it, or at least pirate it?
@BootsRiley @vuecinemas Fuck, gotta get to the theaters to see this damn movie already... sorry it took me so long! Been a fan since The Coup 🙏🙏🙏

Just feels like doing too much, at least to me

So she’s just on the ceiling, in broad daylight, and Bear’s not noticing?
Curry Barker says fans have missed a clever detail in 'OBSESSION' that almost nobody has talked about.

When Bear opens the lunchbox at work, he finds two pictures labelled “YOU” and “NOT ME.”

Barker points out that the picture labelled “YOU” was actually taken by Nikki from the hat the angle is too high for Nikki to have taken it while lying in bed. As one person in the discussion puts it, “It's a downward perspective.”

A small detail hidden in plain sight that makes the scene even more interesting.

In only 7 years Apple has undeniably become the best streamer. Truly the only one I would keep if I could only keep one. Impressive stuff.
Today is the 7th anniversary of the launch of Apple TV. In those 7 years, we’ve released over 70 feature films and earned 29 Oscars nominations (including a Best Picture win). This is a cake we had at the launch party, 7 years ago today. Excited for what’s coming next.

Warner Bros repeatedly claimed footage of my face as footage from the Clayface trailer (A movie about a man who's face is melting...I think I should be offended) and they rejected my dispute pointing out my face is in fact NOT in the Clayface trailer.

Finding out about this on for the first time is... disheartening. I had been pushing to do a Blu-Ray of SPACED for years, so to find out that someone just went ahead without our involvement is.... a bummer. Not authorized by anyone involved in making the show. Finding out what happened as we speak...
So SPACED is finally coming to blu-ray and it's from an "algorithmic" remaster in 4K... C'mon, seriously? @edgarwright did you have any involvement in this? Because an AI upscale is most disappointing...

It’s not critical of Seyfried so much as emblematic of the difference in perspective and perception that defines the film. Definitely not extending sympathy to Billy lol
It’s disturbing how few people are clocking that this scene is critical of Seyfried and the beginning of Oppenheim extending sympathy to Billy

Daylight savings is so weird. I have a fever and woke up because my toddler started crying 1:43am. Got her up, fed her, held her, got her back to sleep. Just checked my phone and it’s 1:17am and I felt that Dolly Zoom feeling
