GPT-5.5 will remain available via the OpenAI API Platform and in Codex sessions authenticated with an API key:
On October 14, it's time to say farewell to GPT-5.5 in ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex across all plans.
If you use GPT-5.5 in Codex, switch to GPT-5.6 Sol or GPT-6 Astra.
Thanks for everything, 5.5 🫡

Human approval is not an audit trail. Financial AI needs a replayable evidence chain: source authority, calculation lineage, action boundaries, reviewer context, and retained logs.

Claude’s Fermat formalization is less a model demo than a systems lesson.
The breakthrough was the workflow: dependency graphs, durable external state, modular artifacts, and machine-checkable gates.

A smaller token count can hide expensive retries. Measure AI coding cost per accepted fix—including failed attempts and human repair—not per tool response.

Physical AI needs an execution contract, not a chat prompt: typed operations, deterministic interlocks, and evidence that the device actually did what it was told.

Training larger (and more capable) backbones for retrieval seems to require a different focus than small ones
It requires less of broad coverage because it is already good at it by default and more focus on the actual systematic failure cases where the potential larger gains remains
Humbling to have to reconsider some intuitions you gained after training a lot

Working with coding agents is amazing. I spend 1-2 days thinking about what to build, the problem, value, and architecture, then delegate the implementation.
The bottleneck is those days of deep thought to clarify what I want and communicate it clearly.
Without clarity, I risk producing trash, wasting resources, and harming my focus. I avoid coding without a clear goal.
P.S. This works even for complex projects like building a knowledge graph extraction algorithm for my use case.

MTIA 300 makes a sharp point: AI training can be network-bound before it is compute-bound.

Marin’s 535B run is useful before the weights exist: its scaling ladder exposes what the team expects to fail, what it monitors, and where “open” still stops short of reproducible.

Training a model family usually means paying for each size separately. Matryoshka Language Model Suites nests 500M, 1.5B, and 3B checkpoints in one run—and makes the draft model part of the verifier. The real story is training + serving economics.
