It's finally happening. Tabletop Tavern launches June 11th!

A medieval RTS roguelite I've been building solo since the pandemic. Total War scale battles, Slay the Spire run structure, one satisfying run per sitting.

May your ale stay full and your enemies distant 🍻

The Rift of Magic is live!

Choose your spells, recruit a mage, and March On in Endless Mode to see how far your army can go.

Tabletop Tavern is also 20% off until November 10 to celebrate. 🍻

If you’re an indie dev you absolutely need to be playing demos from next fest.

If you’re coding 24/7 but not understanding what players of your genre are expecting you’re playing yourself

Tabletop Tavern launched with 10 difficulties. I've gotten feedback overtime that was a bit too many so its since been reduced to only 4.

Now it's Squire, Knight, Lord, and Godking with each stacking on the last.

You're also now rewarded with a new statue color on the map!

Old school knight or forest born commoner? In Tabletop Tavern, the hero you choose shapes your army.

Ser Edric Valeward makes your best troops better and your charges hit harder.

Rhydan Greythorne keeps your common soldiers in line and your rangers deadly accurate.

Check out Tabletop Tavern, a roguelike RTS, where you build an army from scratch and command it on a chaotic battlefield. You recruit units from different factions and make tactical choices that shape the fate of every run. The game is out on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/3337380/Ta…

Until now every battle in Tabletop Tavern has been won with steel, arrows, and gunpowder.

On October 27th, The Rift of Magic opens and changes the battlefield forever 🧙‍♂️

Happy Sunday game devs.

Inspiration is perishable, if you feel like you want to work on your game, even just a little, you absolutely need to.

I quit my day job. Tabletop Tavern is my full time job as of today.

I got to make that call because you all showed up for this game, bought it, posted about it, and told me what you wanted from it. That is the whole reason this is possible.

Everything goes into the **Rift of l. Locking in.

Thank you. Truly.❤️

In no particular order, top 5 game devs to follow if you want a successful game

@AdventureMtn - marketing
@JonasTyroller - player fantasy focused dev
@doot_dodo - long term success
@UnityCodeMonkey - general good advice
@JakeSucky / @IndieGameJoe - see what games get engagement
@TJGameDev Agree, what are the other 4?:)

There’s like 5 indie devs in the world that consistently give out quality advice on this platform, and Jonas is one of the best.

Yes luck plays a role in game dev, but realizing that player fantasy is the penultimate factor in a games success is so important to understand as an indie dev.

Tabletop Tavern may be far from a perfect game but my focus on delivering a unique experience that fulfills the player fantasy of building your custom army in a roguelike loop has led to it being more successful than my wildest dreams.

Wishing you best of luck on the project!
We are excited to announce that we're making a new game and that it is canceled. See full devlog on YT.

Tabletop Tavern is on sale for the first time since launch with a 20% discount!

If a medieval RTS roguelite sounds like a good time, than this is the game for you.

There's been tons of QOL updates, enemy AI improvements, balancing, and more since launch. It's a great time to jump in.

My solo indie game Tabletop Tavern has sold 100,000 copies in its first two weeks! 🎉

Been a little preoccupied with bug fixes and balance patches but wanted to take a moment to thank all the people who have supported me over the years. I could not have reached this milestone or their engine and support, especially that of @Raggune

The entire @SyntyStudios team for their models and their direct support of me for the past 5ish years

@AdventureMtn for the most accurate indie dev marketing advice

@JonasTyroller for his videos and podcasts on game dev, truly the best content out there.

@UnityCodeMonkey @SebastianLague @TurboMakesGames and @dani485b for their educational game dev content

@IndiegameJordan for all his hard work marketing

@GamirrorGames for Chinese Localization and QA @allcorrect for Spanish, French, Russian and German Localization

@AlexRak02 @usmandevYT @InsomiSnorlax @the_real_aia for being supported game dev bros

@noclipvideo @dannyodwyer @DustinCanFly @thomasbrushdev @ThomasStewartW @idlethumbs for providing insightful and entertaining game-dev/video-game content

@ChrisWillx @AlexHormozi For providing inspiring and life changing advice

Eren and Nathan for giving me opportunities to be a professional unity developer

And last but most importantly my beautiful wife for believing in me and putting up with all the weekends and long nights I spent in front of a screen.

100,000 is just the start. Immensely proud of the community around this game and I look forward to continuing development on it!

Thanks again,
TJ
