Sail into the depths where Chaos tears free.
When the world itself turns predator, few dare to defy its hunger.
She can steer through tempests and shipwrecks…
but no magic can shield her heart from what’s coming.
From the eye of the storm to the edge of the world, one choice hem all.
A tideweaver marked by the waves. A berserker with nothing left to lose. A voyage none of them will survive unchanged.
Climb aboard Shimmering Swell and sail with Thalrenstride into the adventure of...
Waveborn's Wake!
~~~~~
Sailing aboard Shimmering Swell, Agnes dreams of glory as Lady Nebula, Ace of the Seas, and with a clever proposal to her father, she aims to step onto dry land and chart a course for a master worthy of such a legend.
In the capital of Cresthia, in a time of inebriation and praise, everything shifts for the adventuring band, Thalrenstride, when a woman claiming to be an upstart swashbuckler intercepts Maddox. Hungry for a mentor and drunk on her own imaginings, she calls herself Odyssea Stormchaser and talks her way into becoming Maddox’s apprentice. Thalrenstride soon learns the world in this girl’s head is brighter and grander than the one around her, and when that bright world insists on overshadowing reality, it becomes dangerous.
What begins as an unusual apprenticeship becomes a bond reshaping who they are in ways neither expected. Time bends, trials mount, and under Maddox’s hard teaching and fierce protection, Odyssea rises as a woman not chosen because she’s without equal, but one who survives because she’s armed and cherished.
Will she emerge as the adventurer she dreams of, or will the tides of fate claim her? Dive into Waveborn’s Wake, a thrilling saga of courage, camaraderie, and the call of the deep.
~~~~~
I used two months worth of credits and revised my promo video. The imagery and frame changes bothered me, as well as the inconsistencies. I spent the last few days finishing it up, and I think it came out well enough.
For those that dislike generated imagery, give me the funds and we'll do it right. LLMs are not involved in the book itself.

Although I like my cover art, I am disliking the title placement/size. There are many recommendations of "Bold Title," and everywhere I go, I see books with a massive title and hidden art.
Though it does not catch my eye and the name of the book draws me in less than the cover ason for bland covers and obnoxiously loud titles.
So, I commissioned my artist to make some changes.
I'd like to know the thoughts of our little writing community. I did some quick edits to give to my artist. Which presents as a better cover? (Font color may change)

I put up a new pinned tween 6 hours ago - it has a record 174 hits!
Yes, that's sarcasm, a post I wrote yesterday has been seen by thousands.
Anyway, here's another post for X to bury - it has a link - heavens forbid it should tempt you off this site!

Finally made an IngramSpark. Had to bump the price of my book from $16.99 to $22.33 just so the 55% discount didn't put each sale in the red. And I still profit $0.20 per sale🤣(any lower and it flagged it as negative for some reason).
But I'm not worried about the money. If I e interested a copy.
Good Luck fellow authors!

Fellow authors and fans of indie books:
It's a strange feeling having someone rip off your hard work then try to sell it as their own.
As seen in the image, this slopper used my main character's names (Gwyn, Jack, and Chele), a similar title, descriptions from my book's listing dparents etc.), descriptions used in reviews from readers, and a description that could literally be used to describe my book's premise (Gwyn's Kingdom).
Sound like theft? That's how I feel.
I spent 15 years writing the Gwyn's Kingdom series. It probably took them 15 minutes to have AI scrape the web and spit out this slop in hopes of riding my brand. Yuck!
NOTE: This is NOT my book nor is it part of the Gwyn's Kingdom series. They used my intellectual property without permission, most likely via AI as they've published several books today.

“Will things ever go back to normal?”
— Eliza
Lured in by dreams, this cryptic tale heads off the beaten path to recover what was lost. @KT_Carlisle brings us into an honest boy’s podcast built on eyewitness accounts in a time where lab-coat lectures tell us not to trust our own eyes. With his support, Eliza’s story exposes the truth for what it is, because I Know What I Saw.

Anyone else struggle to start writing the next book because you're still stuck in the one you just finished, and you really don't want to leave it so now you keep making excuses to keep toying with it like more marketing "ideas?"

Watching each item trickle in was painful. The tassels finally came today. I saved over $300 rounding the corners and buying tassels separate. And the holes are neat shapes instead of boring circles😁.
Thanks to Oncakedraws, I have four great images for my bookmarks! 100 of each.

New art I made for Nakiri!
If this somehow hits 50 reposts I'd post a color version.

Waveborn's Wake is officially available on paperback! 🥳
It comes complete with a Table of Contents, Chapter Titles, Maps, and an unnecessarily complete Glossary!
My cartographer and I should've formatted the map colors differently, but too late now😆.

To those who order their own books from Amazon:
Is there a special way to do it for some "It's my book" discount? Or do you buy it retail, sell it for what you paid, and collect royalties from Amazon as if it were purchased by those you sold to in person?
Before I make a large order from a 3rd party supplier, I wanted to grab a few copies off Amazon to give out to friends and family.

🤣 He lacks the intelligence to argue any legitimate points. He makes false accusations based on his own ignorance. And the predicted outcome always occurs. Some people are too far gone to reason with.

If you haven't checked it out yet, check out Gary Got Goosed! I had the pleasure of ARC reading it and bought a physical copy for the shelf of indie awesome!
It's not a fantasy, but it is a fun story with a ton of heart!
I'll drop a linky.

This is an earnest question for all you women authors and readers. Do you care about specifics in stories?
Context:
I noticed my wife, and the wives of quite a few other people I've met will almost always talk during important dialogue of movies and shows (I've been a mover for eds of families each year). They're engaged during the action, but will bring up unaffiliated conversation during closing dialogue, plot dialogue, romance dialogue, one-liners, basically everything a man enjoys in cinema.
Additionally, to learn more about romance and my wife's taste, I read quite a few of her novels. Many of which are Nora Roberts and Stephenie Meyer. I noticed a theme in all of them. HEAVY exposition, especially for emotions and thoughts. Almost no descriptions, every woman is curvy or figured; every man tall and handsome. Cute/sexy outfit, vibrant colors; reserved or "slutty." And the dialogue rarely goes anywhere except to push the plot with more heavy exposition. No specifics. No undertone. No subtext. No deep thought. No gem quotes. No lingering emotions or reflection.
All this came flooding into thought because we're watching HER show, Rizzoli and Isles. It's the end of the episode. Some dude is courting the MC and is about to say some wise words as he's rejected. I'm intrigued because I enjoy witty/wise lines. My wife shouts a random question about dinner as if she isn't interested even in the least in your own show because who-dun-it was previously exposed. I ask her what he said and she doesn't seem bothered by not knowing.
I asked her before about this, and she just shrugs.
So, ladies! Do you care about this stuff?
