If you wish to financially support SKG and get something directly in return, the SKG merch store is the way!
Our sincere thanks to our talented artists! (their artist links are available on each merch store product)

The @EU_Commission said no to legislation with the Stop Destroying Videogames European Citizens' Initiative (ECI). We're taking the fight to the Digital Fairness Act.
Join us in Brussels on Saturday 17 October for Fair Play in the Digital Fairness Act!
📅 Sat 17 Oct, 15:30 to 18:30 CEST
📍 Steigenberger Hotel, Brussels
Register: opnform.com/forms/event-re…
Co-organised with Internet Archive Europe
🎮Panel 1 | Ownership 2.0: you bought it, who owns it?
If a publisher can switch off a game you paid for, did you ever own it? What would a DFA amendment on ownership and preservation actually say? @Moritz_Katzner , @kdrazewski and @julienmasanes discuss what the Digital Fairness Act must fix.
Panel 2 | Papers, please: the internet after age verification
Paul Diegel, James Baker and Professor @bpreneel1 of @KU_Leuven on age checks, ID checks and the lessons of the Discord breach.
Both panels moderated by @linotherhino (@the_info_labs )
After the event, join us at the Stop Killing Games Gala Reception where you can meet, greet, discuss, and share ideas with the people behind #StopKillingGames and #StopKillingInternet !

Ross of @accursedfarms explains how the EU Kids Act is cover for making private servers without age verification illegal, and doing the exact opposite of protecting kids in order to establish a surveillance state. Here's how to fight back:
-Sign and spread the itiative if you're an EU citizen of voting age (friends and family count too!): eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/
- Leave a public comment about the EU Kids Act
Be polite and civil. This isn't Twitter or social media, but a direct public comment to the Commission. They're under no obligation to take people seriously if people misbehave or get out of hand. Write like you'll have to give your comment in person to your town hall or local government: ec.europa.eu/info/law/bette…
- Read up on the EU Kids Act: eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/…
- The leaked proposal of the Kids Act: drive.proton.me/urls/7FGQYQ01Y…
- Contact your Member of European Parliament about your opposition to the Kids Act, and why they should also be opposed to it: europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/home
- Spread the word and this video far and wide! Let the public know what is happening!

@TumblrDevBlueD Yeah we're aware, this isn't under our control. It seems the ECI signing page for all ECIs is down at the moment. Looks like EU IT let a SSL cert expire?

Thanks for the restraint. Let's take this as an opportunity to spell it out for some people in case they need the reminder before commenting:
Leaving a public comment on a law proposal is not going on Twitter or social media. The Commission is less likely to take public comments seriously if people misbehave or get out of hand. Be sincere, but not too emotional. Keep your wits about you, and write your comment like you're going to deliver it to your local government or town hall.
A good rule of thumb about if your comment would be appropriate or not: ask yourself if you'd be embarrased to give your comment in person to your government.
Priority is also given to Europeans, so especially comment politely if you're from Europe. Select EU Citizen or Non-EU citizen depending on which one you are.

@DrMedCheems Es ist unklar, ob dies für alle Betriebssysteme gelten würde oder nur für solche mit Altersüberprüfung. Wir haben diese Passagen von Juristen prüfen lassen, und es gibt hierzu keinen Konsens.
