With more developments on the horizon for Soneium, I’ve been thinking about moving some funds over to explore what’s coming. 👀
@soneium also rolled out some new missions last night, so I decided to give them a try and do my homework.
I tried all three through @StartaleApp. Bridge $25+ USDC to Soneium → 100 STAR
2. Deposit 25+ USDSC into the USDSC vault on Soneium → 40 STAR
3. Deposit 0.01+ WETH into the WETH vault on Ethereum → 60 STAR
I sent USDC from Base and used Ethereum for the WETH deposit. There are several supported networks to choose from. I picked Base to avoid an extra ETH-to-USDC swap on Ethereum and the higher gas fees.
If you’re starting from an exchange, here’s what to prepare:
• 25.5+ USDC via Base or another supported network, after withdrawal fees. Check that your swap quote leaves you with at least 25 USDSC.
• 0.011 ETH via Ethereum, plus some extra ETH for gas.
Send the USDC to the address under Deposit → Bridge to Soneium → Transfer crypto. You need to use that specific deposit route for the bridge mission to count.
For the WETH mission, send ETH to your Startale Smart Wallet on Ethereum, wrap it into WETH, then deposit it into the WETH vault. This mission is on Ethereum, not Soneium, and is only available on the Global edition using a Startale Smart Wallet.
The minimum is 0.01 WETH. I tend to go slightly over the minimum on missions like this, so I deposited 0.011 WETH.
I personally used 27 USDC + 0.011 ETH—about $54 at an ETH price of $2,475, before fees.
The USDC you bridge can then be swapped into USDSC for the second mission, so you’re using the same funds for both.
My swap quote included a 0.85% Startale App fee, already factored into the quoted amount. Startale covered the network gas fee on that quote, so gas was $0.00. The app fee still applied.
Check your available gas sponsorship in the app, and leave some ETH for transactions that aren’t covered.
I’ve received the 100 STAR for bridging. To get the remaining 100, I need to keep at least 25 USDSC and 0.01 WETH in their respective vaults for 14 consecutive days.
I recorded the setup and actual steps, so the video should help if you’re doing this for the first time.
The campaign ends November 25 at 8 p.m. KST / 11 a.m. UTC 🕗

When a project “sunsets,” users don’t get their time back.
I’ve been seeing that word far too often in crypto lately. It’s made me think harder about where I put my time, capital and effort, and what the companies behind these ecosystems stand to lose if they walk away.
That’s ttention to blockchains that companies and institutions are building as extensions of their core businesses. Two that stand out to me are Soneium, developed by Sony and Startale’s joint venture, and Circle’s Arc. @soneium @arc @circle
Soneium focuses on bringing content and IP onchain and building services for creators and fans. At Soneium Sips during TOKEN2049 in Singapore, I had in-depth conversations with members of the core team about what they’re working on. There’s a lot planned for this year and next.

Yesterday, I also noticed that @Optimism and other ecosystem partners had switched their X banners to Soneium teasers. It looks like things are starting to come together.
Arc is closely tied to Circle’s efforts to expand USDC’s use in payments, transfers and settlement. When I visited Circle House in Singapore, I got the impression that the Circle and Arc teams were closely aligned in what they’re building.
Corporate backing alone doesn’t guarantee success. But I do think the decision to walk away becomes more complicated when a blockchain is connected to a company’s core business. Its reputation, existing partnerships and future business plans are all part of that calculation.
That’s what I’m looking for: a concrete reason to keep building, and something meaningful to lose by stopping. Soneium and Arc are high on my list for that reason.
