@marten_damien @drkellyscriven 4th amendment: gov can't seize my stuff (my uterus)
8th: bans cruel/unusual punishment
9th: acknowledges unenumerated rights
13th: gov can't force anyone to labor against their will for free
14th: if men have control of their bodies for those 9 months, then so do women

WHEN YOU REALIZE THE BABY BOOM WASN'T JUST SOLDIERS COMING HOME HORNY.
It was soldiers coming home to the GI Bill, free college, 0% down home loans, and low interest business loans.
It was strong unions. Pensions. A house that cost 2 years of salary.
It was confidence that the future was actually going to be better than the present.
That's what produced a baby boom. Not romance. Security.
You want a higher birth rate now?
Give people a future where they know their kids will actually be okay.
That's the whole formula. It's not complicated. It's just expensive, and nobody in charge wants to pay for it twice.

Some mass-shooters don't have a specific target; they're just looking to kill people. Arming a specific building isn't going to keep them from killing OTHER people. It only keeps the people in *that* building safe(ish). You're passing the death on to a different innocent person.
@omgsidewalks I think schools should serve healthier food & have armed guards at the doors. ♥️

He stopped the shooter, but he didn't stop the shooting. That's the difference. Three kids and their teacher were already dead, and an unarmed teacher had tackled him first. YOU spent decades blocking laws that keep guns away from kids. Now you're taking a victory lap? Fuck that.
“The NRA wants you to focus on how this was stopped…”
Correct. A heroic armed citizen saved innocent lives. Your failed gun control policies and “Gun-Free Zone” stickers did not.

And that rape is NOT a natural side effect of taking drugs, because if there is no rapist in the room, then a person who has taken drugs will only (checks notes) feel the effects of the drugs, and not... be raped by the drugs.
This is not rocket science.
This is not rocket science.
I don’t know how to explain to people, nor should I have to explain it, that someone who has taken drugs still doesn’t deserve to be raped.

No man sees a person waiting for urgent medical treatment, and assumes that she's also in the mindset to enthusiastically want sex *while she continues to suffer from her malady*.
What's wrong with so many men, that they want to have sex with *a patient in the emergency room*?
What's wrong with so many men, that they want to have sex with *a patient in the emergency room*?
It's really incredible how low the bar is for men to receive the benefit of the doubt. Their bullshit is gold & there is truly no expectation for them to be meet basic standards of decency with regard to consent, human decency, & the social contract.

The reason it’s not that simple is that I don’t want my child’s life to depend on the presence of a good guy with a gun. In most of the developed world this isn’t an issue because… they ban guns.
A good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon. He is a hero. It is that simple.

Expanding on this, our rape laws work on the opposite principle from consent.
Consent assumes that the answer is 'no' until it's a yes.
Because of the "innocent until proven guilty" model, rape laws assume that the answer was yes until she proves that she said no.

Our rape loopholes are based on such burdens on victims. Like states that declare it's not rape unless the perpetrator used a gun, beat the victim significantly, or was a stranger. The idea that it's not really rape unless a victim is willing to die to prevent it is rape culture.

And another thing,
It wasn't a good guy with a gun. It was a father who was forced to kill someone else's child and now he has to live with that the rest of his life.
Republicans repeatedly fantasize about stopping a tragedy. Why not fantasize about preventing it to begin with.

Just compare this to the way recent Dem politicians have talked to (and about) their hecklers.
Our president called one of his current consnstituents- someone he actively has power over- "scum".
Our president called one of his current consnstituents- someone he actively has power over- "scum".
Last night, a woman attended a Trump rally wearing a "Release the Epstein Files" shirt (a core promise of the Trump campaign).
A ruckus ensued, and several MAGA men beat her mercilessly.
While she was being beaten, Trump mocked her from the stage.
Trump is a demonic force on not think of any other word to describe it.

It's not a double standard. Men do have the exact same right to make medical decisions impacting their own body.
Child support is a matter of parenting and women also pay child support.
Misogynists try to pretend they're victims because they feel entitled to control women.

@GodlyActionl difference is where we believe morality comes from.
I don’t believe murder, rape, cruelty, or exploitation are wrong because a god commanded me not to do them. I believe they’re wrong because they cause real harm to other human beings... and because empathy, compassion, and concern for others matter.
I’ve literally had a Christian tell me that the only thing stopping them from murdering or raping people is God.
I don’t know about you, but I find that deeply disturbing. If the only thing keeping someone from hurting other people is fear of divine punishment or obedience to a command, I don’t think that’s a particularly good foundation for morality.

If going to a party thrown by men is “dangerous and a bad decision”, then men shouldn’t be allowed to throw parties or exist in society.
If men are such a danger that “women should know better than to drink around them”, then men shouldn’t be allowed to participate in a functioning society.
Y’all wanna have that convo? Or do you want to start holding fellow men accountable? Now.

Oh yeah?
If that's what frat houses are for, close them all entirely, immediately.

@mooniegirl_ And it's so confusing to me, cuz first they will say "not all men", and then in the same breath go "well what did you expect when you're hanging out alone, with men" like?? Pick one?
