Foreign work force has always been the crux of western economics. From the plantations to the colonies to the immigrants. Even down to the wars. Labour exploitation has been beneficial to the west throughout all of their prosperity.
@SkribzSt The western white man built a more comfortable society so over generations their work ethic went down. Immigrants work harder generally for the opposite reason

Uni was a scam. Realistically, the negative stigma a lot of trades and alternative routes have is because uni was touted as the norm for so long so they could trap up in this endless cycle of debt instead of being a self sufficient tradesmen.

The NHS has never been staffed with home grown people. There wouldn't be an NHS if it wasn't for windrush.
'It's not normal!'

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch asks why 'we cannot staff the NHS with home-grown people?'

It's even worse. In fact, it's way worse.

Big up the pan african Saturday schools. A distant memory, but that shit definitely stuck.
Akala, aged 7: "Miss, you mean he helped?" His teacher said no, one man stopped slavery, and got angry. Why that moment stuck with him for life.

'Empty barrels make the most noise' - A Jamaican proverb.
One thing this transatlantic slavery discourse has highlighted for me is just how many people are unfamiliar with the history. And that's fine. What I don't understand is why those who know the least often seem to be the loudest. Lol.

Hey @grok concise, no spin.

Weeks before Princess Diana died in a Paris car crash, investigator Gordon Thomas reported a foreign intelligence operative had pressured her personal driver, Henri Paul, to suddenly spy and report on a Ritz Hotel guests.

Thomas discovered that the he driver again shortly before the fatal crash.

@grok, which country’s intelligence agency did Thomas identify?

Country only.

Again. What was the Scramble For Africa about? Isn't anybody gonna ask her?
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch praises the Royal Navy and its role in ending the slave trade.

Badenoch says that while 'labour have been talking about apologising' she is 'proud of our history' and wants us 'to remember our history in a proud way.

I wanted to tweet this yesterday, but I know certain African kingdoms and communities' complicity in the slave trade is a touchy subject. Yorubaland, specifically. From the Oyo Empire to the trading communities in Lagos. They ate well. Check her lineage 👀
The type of ‘africans’ that were slave trade collaborators were the type that in modern day behave like Kemi Badenoch - I wont be surprised if her ancestors were complicit!

Was the Scramble For Africa an attempt to recoup that money then? Somebody let me know, because that part seems to have been left out of all these conversations...
PROFESSOR DOUG STOKES: Ending slavery cost Britain far more than it ever profited from the trade. The demand for reparations is simply blackmail trib.al/RKG602h

Look at the community note. Hollywood didn't make 'The Woman King' about Dahomey by accident. They put an African kingdom that participated in the slave trade at the centre of a Hollywood production ON PURPOSE. Chess, not checkers.
The idea that "Africans sold Africans" into slavery (or "Blacks sold Blacks") is a decontextaulised victim-blaming white supremacist lie.

From @GMB today.

#reparations
Community note
African kingdoms such as Dahomey actively captured and sold millions of captives to European traders in the transatlantic slave trade, per royal statements, port records and historians.
