unpopular: you don't have to leave ethereum to stop being mapped.

$XMR has used one-time addresses on its own chain from the start. erc-5564 brings that idea to the receive side on l1, as an open standard.

that's what i'm building, plus a check so the exit doesn't undo it.

how my lab rates a project, in 3 steps:

1. follow what it pays users: rewards, claims, payouts
2. ask: can a stranger link the receiver's main wallet to it from public data?
3. score 7 rows with evidence. the weakest row sets the stage, 0 to 2

unverified rows never help.

got asked: can you see my payments or move my funds?

no. your keys come from one signature of your wallet, made in your browser. the viewing key stays on your device.

signing never moves funds and nothing is stored on my side. only your keys can spend what lands there.

hot take: private payments are easy. private exits are the product.

on $ETH a fresh address per payment works. people get found when the money moves to a wallet everyone knows.

so my check runs before you withdraw, not after.

key wallet or exchange, where do you withdraw to?

built it so your wallet rotates addresses for you, nobody does that manually
Your receive address is a public diary.

ephemeral gives every payment a fresh address, used once. Only you can find it.

building tonight: the full client, past beta.

receive, send and a scan that runs on your device, with view tags so it skips what isn't yours.

why: the beta is for testers. v1 is the one i'd hand anyone without explaining it.

receive, send or scan: which do you try first?

what your viewing key can and can't see, in 5 posts.

every stealth setup has two keys. most people only hear about one.

what it can't do: sign, spend or move anything.

but whoever holds it can see every payment you receive. so in my client it never leaves your device.

both keys come from one signature of your normal wallet. nothing extra to back up.

that signature is what you guard. treat it like a private key.

re-ran a 2023 stealth address study on every Umbra and ERC-5564 payment on Ethereum mainnet.

38.92% of withdrawn stealth addresses lead back to their owner. the math held, the withdrawals didn't.

prove you got paid without showing your wallet, in 3 steps:

1. a payment lands on a one-time address
2. that address signs the receipt. nobody else can
3. you share the link, any browser checks it onchain

the receipt lives after the #, so it never reaches our server.
