Chairman @ChuckGrassley’s statement on former FBI officials charged with lying to Congress ⬇️

“These two unelected bureaucrats used the power of government to smear my and @SenRonJohnson's constitutional oversight and distract from inconvenient truths that weaponized bureaucrats and the Biden administration didn’t want you to know. For years, Congress and the American people were fed lies from federal law enforcement, the Intelligence Community and the liberal media to protect the Bidens at all costs – all while Jack Smith burned up taxpayer dollars attempting to throw President Trump in prison.

“Today, we’re seeing accountability efforts in action. I appreciate the Department of Justice and the FBI’s work to root out government corruption and embrace transparency. At long last, Americans can see all the facts and evidence for themselves.”
Two former senior FBI officials, Nikki Cole Floris, 46, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Bradley Benavides, 56, of Aiken, South Carolina, surrendered today on arrest warrants issued after a criminal complaint charged them with lying to Congress about their involvement in the FBI’s investigations into Hunter Biden, announced @USAttyPirro.

The charges stem from an ongoing investigation into the since-dissolved FBI Foreign Influence Task Force.

Evidence shows that Floris discussed the FBI’s investigations into Hunter Biden routinely for more than a year both within the FITF and with others in the FBI. Contrary to his assertion that he learned of the Hunter Biden laptop from Wikipedia, Benavides regularly discussed the laptop with FBI officials in the leadup to the 2020 election.

NEW:
EXCLUSIVE: New whistleblower reporting via @ChuckGrassley reveals that personal payroll data for the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) was collected by Jack Smith’s team.

The financial data included CPI employees’ medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, along with BACK STORY: In fall 2025, Grassley revealed that CPI was one of 430 groups subpoenaed or targeted by Jack Smith as part of the Arctic Frost probe, which laid the foundation for the Jan. 6 investigation.

The new reporting shows that Smith’s collection of data and financial records was broader than previously reported.

While Smith had a mandate to investigate Jan. 6, the collection of CPI’s February 2023 payroll data appears to go beyond the scope.

Critics, including Grassley and @SenJudiciaryGOP say Smith’s sweeping data collection aimed to map the entire Republican network.

NOTE: Combining data sets from donors, voter registration, lawmakers’ phone records (not contents), and financial transactions is far more revealing and intrusive.

It can reveal a network as well as the frequency of the contact and strength of relationship.

Smith has defended the overall investigation as fact-driven and non-political.

DONOR DATA BREACH: Jack Smith's special counsel office and Biden's DOJ collected personal information on more than 639,000 Republican campaign donors, supporters, and voters during the Arctic Frost probe, according to a new memo from Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley.

The tes of birth, physical addresses, emails, credit card information, donation amounts, occupations, and whether individuals were registered Republican. Over 148,000 of those entries were identified specifically as donors — most of whom contributed small dollar amounts.

Grassley says the findings corroborate that Smith's team aimed to "map out the entire Republican Party apparatus" and calls the data collection "incredibly invasive" and far beyond what the special counsel's mandate required.

It is a fact, not a conspiracy, that Democrats are defending Jack Smith after his widespread abuses against their constituents. Please feel free to correct the record by condemning Jack Smith's unconstitutional actions, apologize to the constituents he harmed and join Republicans in seeking accountability.
This letter spreads conspiracies without ever addressing the fact that Republicans continue to violate Senate Rules by withholding the documents they used to falsely accuse Jack Smith of perjury. This is all a distraction from Trump’s disgraceful crimes that Smith investigated.

🚨 BREAKING: Chairman @ChuckGrassley SLAMS Judiciary Committee Democrats for "falling over themselves" defending Jack Smith's unlawful and unconstitutional actions.

Grassley revealed Smith targeted nearly 5,000 Americans for the false crime of donating to Republicans. Instead of onstituents, Democrats want an apology for weaponizer-in-chief Jack Smith.

Republicans aren’t backing down, and they won’t apologize for fighting for accountability.

In 2021, AG Garland issued a memo that directed the FBI to target concerned parents who spoke out during school board meetings.

Today, @TheJusticeDept released a report confirming the Biden DOJ and White House worked to chill parental and free speech rights, labeling innocent parents as "domestic terrorists."

Another example of runaway Democrat government.
Today, the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group issued a report detailing how Biden Administration officials at the Department of Justice explored avenues to prosecute parents and protestors who spoke to school boards and school officials during the Covid-19 pandemic.
te House and Justice Department leadership pushed for a memo which sought to find a federal “hook” to prosecute parents and charge protestors with federal crimes, despite widespread concerns from attorneys and agents.

This report follows letters sent earlier today by Department of Justice and @usedgov leadership to all 50 state attorneys general on parental rights.

A collective 914 Americans in states represented by Democrats on the Judiciary Committee had their private checks subpoenaed by Jack Smith.

ZERO Democrats asked Smith about those subpoenas at today's hearing.

When the government goes after everyday Americans, Democrats do nothing.

That's not representative government. It's self-serving on the taxpayer dime.
