Bob Redford and I were friends for almost 45 years, since he asked me to be a Founding Trustee of the Sundance Institute. He was a generous supporter and a fierce advocate for making America a more perfect union.

One of the great actors and directors in the history of film, his talent will be missed, but more importantly, this kind and decent person will be missed.

The Court has affirmed the constitutionality of the CFPB’s funding structure and this decision affirms our intent to establish CFPB as a robust, independent agency dedicated to protecting consumers.

Lowell Weicker is an important historical figure for Connecticut and the country. He was a dedicated public servant and fearlessly independent. More personally, Lowell Weicker was a close colleague and a dear friend. Our families' relationship goes back more than 50 years, and

I love this photo of @SpeakerPelosi and my late sister Martha, dear friends going back to their college days. All of us in the Dodd family are deeply grateful to our friend Nancy for her remarkable service and dedication to our country. You have made us all proud.
I know my mom would be so proud of her friend today. Thank you, Madame Speaker. What an incredible legacy you leave & what an amazing example to women you have been and will continue to be.

For me personally, I lost a dear friend. Harry and I served together for several decades, but in our final years together, we worked side-by-side, on a near-daily basis, to respond to the financial crisis in 2008 and pass both the Affordable Care Act and Wall Street reform.
