What's this? Me collecting seeds again? Well, if I'm out surveying rare #eucalypts & find a few that I know have never been seedbanked, why not I say! A good haul of Eucalyptus dealbata subsp aperticola from Wollemi NP will be on its way to #PlantBank at the @AustralianBG soon!

#QandA your question tonight is the wrong question. It should be "are todays kids going to be as well off financially as their parents when they're their parents age." That addresses the fact that future opportunities are likely not going to be equitable given current debt levels

Watching the peloton crest the now notorious Ramah Av climb in the Men's Road Race in the #uciworldchampionships. Such a great atmosphere to share with my son - as a local this is a great event to see!

This has to be the most #stylish boulder I have ever seen. Who ever knew a bright pink hairdo would look so good in the middle of Munghorn Gap NR?
Jokes aside though, that's the most concentrated patch of Stylidium I think I've laid eyes on. #Nature is so cool. #biodiversity

Let's play pick the type locality! These are all variations in fruit of the vulnerable #Eucalyptus cannonii (sometimes considered a subsp. of E. macrorhyncha) which I'm currently studying across its range. Certainly some intriguing findings so far.... #conservation #botany

Gorgeous yet threatened #Grevilleas of the western Wollemi! #Endangered G. obtusiflora subsp. fecunda & Vulnerable G. evansiana both putting on a show this week and adding a splash of colour to the bush as I hunt for rare Eucalypts. #conservation #biodiversity #SavingOurSpecies

It's not my reason for being in the Capertee but #Endangered Phebalium bifidum is putting on a great show right now, so why not grab a few quick photos? Certainly a looker with those bright #flowers & funky Y-shaped leaves! #biodiversity #threatenedspecies #Ozplants #fieldwork

It's been far too long since I fired up my twitter feed but it's also been far too long since I got bush for a whole week - Capertee valley here I come for some Eucalypt surveys! Stay tuned for some #conservation stories & #botanical goodness! #biodiversity #botany #fieldwork

In Jan 21 the @AustralianBG surveyed popn’s of the Duck’s Head Wasp Orchid fearing fowl findings after 🔥. But they found #orchids by the duck-load with 1 area home to 50K+ plants from which seed was banked🦆. This work was part of @GreeningAustralia’s #ProjectPhoenix 📸@seedygav

Boy, it feels like it's been a while since I went bush! A great day today hunting threatened Pomaderris up Wingen Maid NR near Scone - the views from the top were worth the steep hike up! I could get used to this again..... #SavingOurSpecies #conservation #fieldwork

Fun memories out in the Blue Mountains and Budawangs collecting for this project! It's great to see plants going into the garden now too & I may miss the #fieldwork for #PlantBank just a little after seeing this!
To secure the iconic Pink Flannel Flower 🌷 under the #RareBloomProject, the @AustralianBG banked a whopping half a million seeds! They also completed germination testing and grew plants that are now thriving in a living collection.

Not a bad write up to sign off from #PlantBank for now & I kind of like the title 'professional seed hunter'. Care to change my role title if/when I come back, @pete_cuneo? 😁 #conservation #biodiversity #science @RBGSydney @SeedPartnership @AustralianBG

A fitting way to end my current tenure at #PlantBank - watching storm clouds roll in over the Gibraltar Range having finished up bagging 7 species for post-fire #conservation projects. It's been wild & I've got some incredible memories. Now, time to head home one last time.

#Endangered Prostanthera staurophylla, from a single mountain near Tenterfield, is loving the wet this season with recruitment higher than I've ever seen before. The plants are loaded with seeds still too, so we bagged a few more for #PlantBank! #conservation #SavingOurSpecies

Back to Gibraltar Range today and a good find in Genoplesium bishopii, a pretty rare customer restricted only a couple of small spots in the granite ranges. I see lots of cool plants but I'll never get sick of the intricacy of these tiny #orchids. #PlantBank #conservation #botany

Finally, on my last trip for #PlantBank (for now) I nailed one of my long time foes in #endangered Almaleea cambagei in Torrington SCA today, a species that had eluded me for 6 years. Possibly my most satisfying seed collection of my 1000+ to date! #conservation #SavingOurSpecies

When you're down to less than 20 plants in the wild, recording #flowers, developing fruit & healthy growth on critically #endangered Homoranthus bruhlii is a satisfying task. Hopefully we can finally get some seeds into #PlantBank for #conservation soon too. #SavingOurSpecies

Telopea aspera (Gibraltar Range Waratah) still looking glorious on a less wet day around Washpool & Gibraltar Range NPs. There's some decent seed set firing up too, so #conservation collections for bushfire recovery projects look promising this year. #PlantBank #biodiversity

The very groovy & very rare Caladenia amnicola (Streamside Spider #Orchid) starting to #flower near Armidale. Known only from the type locality, we hope to get some seeds into #PlantBank for #conservation storage & research for the first time soon. #SavingOurSpecies #biodiversity

The last #flower out this season of the very rare Thelymitra incurva in Nadgee NR. This species was highlighted as being impacted by the Black Summer fires, so to see several hundred in seed today was great & enabled another #conservation collection for #PlantBank! #biodiversity
