President Trump slams his former personal attorney and DOJ official Alina Habba in response to news that she was under a four-year contract paying her $10 million annually.
And the White House posted the video.
He says her deal is “unacceptable” and that he told the owners of her.
The contract was with Concord Partners, a company tied to a Venezuelan family whose patriarch, Julio Herrera Velutini, received a pardon from President Trump.
The New York Times first reported on the more than $50 million deal and Trump’s anger over it.
When the Times first reported on the deal, Habba told them her arrangement had been vetted and approved by the DOJ.
A cardinal sin in Trump’s world is for someone to use his name or their association with him to enrich themselves without his prior knowledge or blessing.
The Times reported that Trump demanded she donate a portion of her compensation to his presidential library — in this clip Trump denies that and starts to suggest, before pulling back, that the family paying her should donate those funds to his library.
This all comes at a time when voters have increasingly indicated that corruption is an issue for them in this election.

@jamestalarico: Yes. Ken Paxton is a child of God. He is my brother in Christ. But love requires accountability. Think about when your friend grabs their car keys to drive home under the influence. Your job as their friend is to take the keys away. But it is done out of love for that person and for all of your neighbors. He's shown that he only cares about himself. He got indicted because he was screwing over his own friends, reported to the FBI by his own staff, impeached by his own party. If I was to sit down with Ken Paxton, I would grab the keys.
