The @iuindy_mbb team begins a new season at 11a vs Miami-Middletown.

They’re playing at the new James T. Morris Arena, 4,200-seat multipurpose venue in downtown Indy.

Nets led after each quarter and by as many as 12 in a 98-90 win in Indiana. They were the last winless team (0-5) in the East.

Nembhard scored 23, Siakam had 17. Big holes w/o Haliburton and Zubac. Especially at center. It's the Pacers' 4th straight loss.

Next: Mon. v ATL

Andrew Nembhard given a technical foul after he was called for an offensive foul.

Carlisle is challenging the foul. Looked like a play on. 52.4s left, Pacers trailing the Nets by 7.

Jay Huff just checked back in — and picked up his sixth foul. So he's done. He had a tough night staying on the court. Was scoreless in 16mins.

It's his first time fouling out in an NBA game.

Already without Zubac and Toppin, Jay Huff picks up his 4th foul. So Nance Jr. checks in to replace him.

Nets outplaying the Pacers into the second half.

Took almost 4mins for the Pacers to score in the second half. Started 0/5 and was outscored 9-0, now behind by double digits vs. the Nets.

It's been a challenge for the Pacers to generate offense tonight

Pacers give up a rebound put-back from Michel Porter Jr. to end the first half. It was an ugly one, yet they only trail by three, 43-40.

Siakam (13pts) has almost half their FGs. They shot 32%, committed 8 TOs and 15 fouls. Nets entered the game with an 0/5 record.

I can't remember a start quite like this. Offense for both teams has been so hard to come by.

Just 55 combined points in the first 17+ minutes. It's been a slow game with neither team in rhythm.

Just last week, the Pacers scored 41 2Q points against this same Nets team.

Not a pleasant quarter of basketball. Pacers missed 14 of 21 shots and were held to 17pts.

But the Nets weren't much better. They lead 20-19.

After starting 0/5 from deep, the Pacers have made two in row: Oubre Jr. and Walker. Seven of their 11 FGAs have been from outside.

Hasn't seen much inside play, by either team, just yet.

On this night celebrating the ABA days, the Pacers are welcoming back several former players during the first timeout.

Rick Carlisle has rejoined the Pacers after being away last game for his father's memorial service.

Pacers handled by the Heat 145-125, their third straight loss. Had only 11 guys, incl. three two-ways, and they all played double-digit mins.

Nembhard had 22/9a, Quenton Jackson scored 24. But the Heat scored too easily, having three players with 25+ points.

Next: Sun. v BKN

This one has been all Miami since the middle of the 2Q. Getting whatever they want in the paint.

Pacers led 54-46.
Since: Outscored 34-9.

Andrew Nembhard has been so smooth. Is 5 for 6 from outside, more 3s than the Heat as a team.

His latest one was much needed, putting an end to a 16-0 run by the Heat.

Antetokounmpo leading the Heat's comeback. It's a 14-0 run and now the Pacers, trailing by six, call timeout.

Short on scorers, Pacers start the second 4 for 14 shooting. And no 2Q FTAs.

Pacers only have 11 available players — and all 11 played in the first quarter.

They shot 60% and lead the Heat 42-36 after 1, with 12a on 15FGs. Now it's about sustaining. But an encouraging start for this undermanned roster. They're without Carlisle as well.

Pacers-Heat being played at an incredible pace. No need for a shot-clock. Heat up 27-23 halfway into the 1Q.

Nembhard already has five assists. He and Huff both have a pair of 3s, huge for a team that hasn't shot it well so far.
